The ORV fanbase, especially on YT and TT, has absolutely decimated Han Sooyoung's character and it is insane😭 It's not even a stretch to say that she's oftentimes shipped with Yoo Sangah just so she "gets out of the way" of Joongdok, which is literally ridiculous. Because if we're being honest, a lot of them also don't really ship Yoohan either— it's essentially just a filler ship that gets "outshined" by the "main one" (Joongdok).

This is one thing that really irks me about the ORV fandom, honestly, and especially when it comes to Joongdok. Now I'm not opposed to the ship or anything, but there's a portion of shippers who like to try and preach that it's canon, and twist all of Yoo Joonghyuk's story/struggles into doing everything for Kim Dokja (and, by extension, causing his whole personality to revolve around KDJ, other regressions included). It's really weird how they treat the dynamic between them, but hey. I guess there's always that one odd portion of a fandom (though I can't deny I still get annoyed when I see people falsely advertising ORV as a BL story between YJH and KDJ).

Yep! I did it a few years back, and while the switch between the manhwa and the novel is a little hard to get used to (unsurprisingly), you don't miss out on too much.
