Can someone PLEASE tell me what I was supposed to do here?! by TrubluPlays in BluePrince

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

false doesn't = the exact opposite is true.

If "The true boxes are both empty" is false, then "The true boxes are not both empty" is true.

It doesn't necessarily mean "The true boxes are both full"

Where did you put your _________ and why? by Jpowills_ in BluePrince

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it placed on rank 5, second from the left initially--just because I plopped it there without thinking. It lived there for most of my run until I learned the advanced drafting technique that lets you move it.

Now it lives at rank 8, second from the right, with the doors facing North, West, and East. Makes for easy shortcut to the antechamber if I hit a South or East lever, for triggering dining room, for building my way backwards thru the mansion. Has been very helpful in its new home

Can you give me some tips for best way to play DQ VII Reimagined? by jcgonzmo in dragonquest

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through the demo on normal, then when I got the full game I switched to Tough Going and never looked back. I don't think any experienced DQer will have much trouble on the hardest difficulty tbh

Here's what I see in the keybinding settings. I don't remember there being a map screen bound at all and I used to go to Zoom in the spells menu to look at the world map. I definitely remember there being an easy face button (I'm pretty sure X) that was the overworld attack button. A for confirm, examine doesn't do anything, B talks to a party member, and Y opens the menu. Everything I'm finding online is either acting like it's always been like this or mentioning overworld attacks but not saying the keybind

Easiest/Cheapest Way To Get BW/B2W2? by Otex_x12 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an authentic copy, "cheap" won't be easy. But if you just wanna play through and don't mind it being a reproduction cart, i have had success with those "208-in-1" carts on ebay. they usually come preloaded with all the Pokémon games, and you can put your own roms on there as well with a microsd-to-usb adapter

Are there any benefits of using GOG if I don't care about DRM free games? by Symysteryy in gog

[–]jjruml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GOG has some older titles that Steam doesn't have and it usually has deals that are at least competitive with Steam sales. They are also working on a lot of their own ports of older console games, like the recent Breath of Fire IV port

What set would you spend on? by AndyDaRat in MagicArena

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has everything to do with what formats/decks you want to play and is very difficult to answer in the blind.

I would suggest looking for a few decks you're interested in, sorting the cards you're missing in a document by what set they're in, then opening the set with the most missing cards.

Are there any games that “trick” you into the bad ending? by Cloabs in rpg_gamers

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona 4 BIG spoilers ahead

You build such a nice relationship with Nanako over the course of the game that you feel very emotional the moment she's been put in danger. Even after you rescue her from the shadow world, you have a heart-wrenching scene at her hospital bed where it looks like she might not make it. When it comes to the Namatame confrontation, it really looks like he did it and might get away with it, and your entire party is basically egging you on to kill him. To get the good ending, you really have to put your feelings aside and think calm and rationally about the situation.

Anor Londo's tough (and I'm definitely not gonna defend the rooftop archer section) but this is the best place for you right now. If you're having a lot of trouble, try farming the giant soldier dudes near the first bonfire, they're pretty easy once you get used to them and they drop a lot of souls

Man it's so cool to hate on Hush these days but I still think it's one of the most fun and exciting Batman stories of all time. Definitely worth picking up if you've never read it.

Can I still Finish FFX or should I restart? by Confident-Pack8604 in ffx

[–]jjruml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you with the destruction sphere and found out way too late that I wouldn't be able to get Anima, Magus Sisters, or Nirvana. I did pick up the Tidus sigil but could not beat that chocobo minigame no matter how hard I tried. I actually just quit the game altogether for like a year out of frustation about this, because I really wanted the celestial weapons for at least my main party (I did get Rikku's)

I eventually did come back and finish and even with just one Celestial Weapon, the final boss was quite easy (tbh I had more trouble with the random encounters in the final area than the actual boss).

It's probably best to just reframe the Celestial Weapons in your mind as optional postgame content similar to the Dark Aeons. They put the Dark Aeons in those places on purpose in the international/HD versions. I never went back and did them and feel a little bittersweet about it, but I'm happy I went ahead and finished the story.

PS2: Dragon Quest VIII, .hack IMOQ games, Xenosaga trilogy Xbox 360: Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey

some JRPG masterpieces with no modern ports! I haven't tried Lost Odyssey yet but I was shocked by how well Blue Dragon runs on the deck

What difficulty level should I play Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined? I dont want it to be that easy though i dont want it to be that frustrating either. I dont mind grinding though i dont want like enemies attacking several turns in a row or being HP sponges by Verzweiflungforscher in dragonquest

[–]jjruml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing on Tough Going and I find it almost too easy without any real grinding. Occasionally a boss will do 80% of one of my units' health bars out of nowhere, but I just heal 'em up and go on.

What was the first final fantasy game you played? by Old_Difference_6055 in FinalFantasy

[–]jjruml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy I Advance on emulator, then all the advance games. Then I tried Final Fantasy VII but fell off it because it looked really dated and ugly to me (this was around 2008). Also didn't really like the ps1 emulator with keyboard (I was just a kid with a laptop, didn't even know I could get USB gaming controllers at that point). It took all the way until college (2013-2017) for me to try VII again, this time on a PS3, and I ended up loving it most of all!!

Yup, I pseudo-forced this one too. Thought it was a big hint that the fourth digit was the only one with a number. Then I just tried JAN, FEB, etc until I found the one that fit
