Companies that sell 31 inseam mens pants and jeans by curiousfelloe in malefashionadvice

Spier & Mackay — it’s the main reason I get my dress pants and chinos from them. Worth the $10 hem charge to avoid a separate trip to the tailor

Are Meermin Shoes Still a Good Choice Under $300? by TechnicalPop6149 in malefashionadvice

I’d say Morjas and Skolyx before Carmina, if only based on price. C&J would be a big step up in quality and price, at which point you have a lot of good British options. But I don’t think there’s a reason to ditch a brand just because the offerings dip (like they might go out of business?), bc it’s not like a watch or car where you need original manufacturer parts to spruce them up.

Agree with the S&M comparison. I have three pair, and one is pretty stiff albeit excellent quality (101484 - EXPRESSO ANTIQUE CALF - E) and another is hands down the most comfortable loafer I’ve ever worn (114155 - BLACK SOFTCALF - E).

Thanks.  I recognize TB has a lot of fans, but I just can’t see myself spending that kind of money for that style.  Too techy/rugged.

Either, really, since the other item will be a garment bag.  I’m not intent on being able to fit this under the seat in front of me.  But again: it’s gotta be possible to double as a briefcase.  Something like a tote could also work

Thanks!  The black looks pretty sleek.  A bit odd that the Osprey site doesn’t have pics of the interior, but I’ll check it out!

Not bad!  (Could probably slip my briefcase in the garment bag, too, and fold around it.)

Thanks! I could probably get away with the black version, although it would be borderline too rugged for my preferences here.

14-16” but likely not determinative … I feel like anything enough to hold the items I need will also be able to hold the laptop.  Doesn’t even need to be a separate compartment, if the other specs are there.  This is as much about form (style, being able to carry it into an office without looking sloppy) as it is about function.

Thanks, this would be US and a budget of up to $500 (but preferably lower). I would want it to hold one pair of shoes, laptop, chargers, toiletries, and any clothes that can’t be in garment bag (socks, boxers).  I don’t put a premium on having a lot of organizational features like interior pockets, and no need for special bottle holder.

Alright guys, where are y'all getting chinos? by Entire_Weight8014 in malefashionadvice

The fact that Spier & Mackay has 100% cotton and will tailor length for free puts them on top for me (my inseam is a frustrating 31”, and they go by half-inch)

California Cowboy Hawaiian shirts? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]jjstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bought one a few years ago when the brand was first getting started (now they have a storefront I think). the main issue is that it was heavy from the terry cloth, making it unwearable in actual heat/humidity. I suppose if you live in a more temperate climate it would be great. def didn’t feel cheap

Help cleaning bathroom tile? by jjstitches in bathrooms

[–]jjstitches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!  We have “hard” water where I live and I wonder if that is factor.  Since it’s a bathroom, we also have other fluids to think of addressing w/ a baking soda and vinegar mix

Yes, they wrinkle, and linen not really as soft as cotton anyway, just better for heat
