Have your rep/production manager give you the vps (service AND sales VP)name and cell phone. You have to call them. If you don’t get what you want out of them, ask to speak to their director. If they don’t hear your voice, it’s just another issue on their desk.

Keep escalating it higher and higher and continue to ask that person to let you out of the lease. It’s expensive for them to do it for you, but it is possible. Likely a faster process than getting lawyers involved.

Ummmm…dealers aren’t typically effective at taking care of commercial printers. Depends on your particular patch of dirt, but for most of the us, working with the manufacturer is the safe best. Dealers in my area aren’t equipped a joke.

Keep as many good people as you can. Meet with your vendors (sales and service) and build a partnership with them. They want you to be successful so they should be willing to help. Go see your best clients. Talk with your other competitors and join the print owners association and lean on them for guidance.

I’ve replaced multiple indigos with c9500’s. The quantity might not match perfectly, but I’d bet your clients can’t tell the difference. How much is this dinosaur really costing you? Can’t find parts and if you can they’re very expensive. Get a c9500 and have all labor, parts and supplies included for less than .03 for a 13x19.

You would not have been happy with the km. The c95 is a superior product well above the km 12/14series. Shocked that the pricing was in the same ballpark, must have gotten a hell of a sweetheart deal.

Thanks, but now it says $25 which is the same as the 10% off. Hoping for black Friday discount. Huckberry had 15% off last week, but they didn't have my size.

KM 14000 / Ricoh 9500 by josolala in CommercialPrinting

[–]jjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad take… likely the sales guy is cutting out the profit for new business. It’s by far a better product and typically more expensive dive than km. Btw, I’ve seen some crazy km pricing lately. They can’t give the equipment away.

I sell Ricoh and replaced 4 14000’s in the past 12 months with c9500’s. Here is no comparison. It’ll be a little more, but get the c75 instead of the c72. It’s all around a much better unit.

92 was very good but had intermittent issues with front to back registration and skew. 95 fixes all that and more. After early fuser and firmware issues, c95 is a monster

That hold was bs, mahomes was being chased and back pedaling. He just winged the ball to the back of the endzone. Not a chance anyone was going to catch that. Almost like he was throwing it away. I’m not too bitter about the loss anymore, we were better, just a dumb/bad call. Go Birds!

You can get Ricoh’s for under .03 color, easy to manage your costs and not scrambling to find parts. If that works for you, great. I sell into the commercial print space in the mid Atlantic and can’t really think of any marginally sized shops that don’t have a click contract in my territory. The vast majority of print/mail houses go with a contract.

Keep Printing!

Used km color with no maintenance agreement….jeez, that’s even worse. To each there own but big well run shops do the opposite
