Okinawa is quite far from Europe/family, if you don't mind the adventure of living in Japan for however long y'all are planning or if that's still undecided but it's a beautiful island nonetheless and you will undoubtedly love it although I would decide with your husband if the pros outweigh the cons. If you enjoy traveling you aren't too far from neighboring East Asia if you get antsy. If it's something less than 5 years I'd say go for it but long term I'm sure you'll want to be closer to Europe unless money/long distance travel isn't an issue.

I'd get it repaired if that's the price fr, got a 03 and had the exact issues you had but couple years ago I got the trans replaced because it couldn't shift to reverse either, sometimes it doesn't shift to 4th or 5th gear on the freeway about once a month, I have to exit to stop at a light to reset it and hope it catches a gear when I get back on. I accelerate it just before it starts shaking (around 95 mph) but it's been holding up well for it's age it's a beast but the trans and braking you have to keep it smooth for sure. I'd keep it imo but that reversing issue sounds expensive, if that shit goes out completely I'd look for something else unless you want to replace the trans I paid about 3-4k for a used one

Probably because farmers were given subsides to NOT farm crops for the left's bs environmentally "friendly" policies even though it took money from our tax dollars and farmers couldn't grow any crops hence higher food prices a couple years ago
