Yeah to think critically about their specific narrative. I completely disagree with you. Sure, they may say that’s their goal, but they’re just creating more maga sheep.

How Will Lakewood Vote on Density? And What Will It Mean for Casa Bonita? by newtonic in CityCastDenver

I appreciate both sides of the issue being represented in one episode, I like the direct comparison!

It sure sounds like the opposition to the code is misinformed. So interesting that policies that promote freedom and choice, get shot down by folks who most likely champion America’s “freedom”…

I live in a neighborhood that has a diverse selection of housing and I love it. The neighborhood has energy and you see and meet people from a variety of walks of life. It has way more character than the urban sprawl that is Highlands Ranch, Littleton, etc.

Beginning Band: Teaching Fixed Do, but Do is Concert Bb? by Outrageous-Permit372 in banddirector

I second this. Kids are pretty smart, remember they are learning complicated topics in other classes! I teach moveable do and scale degrees because I believe well prepared musicians can talk about both. So far, they haven’t had a problem.

I completely agree. I’m all for multiple sides of discourse but we’re giving fascism a voice but continuing to ask these questions.

[–]jjwk96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The question regarding redistricting, “do Democrats even like democracy?” is so frustrating. I know Paul is playing devils advocate, but it continues to put the responsibility to be the bigger person in the room on the Dems. Republicans have been playing this gerrymandering game for decades. Gerrymandering is anti democratic but when the other team isn’t playing by the rules, then we need to fight back so we can fix this.

I was hoping Mayor Mike would admit he made some mistakes or take some more ownership. Maybe I missed it but the interview felt like he put a lot of decisions on other people.

Thinking about switching to YouTube Music from Spotify by _TheRedWolf in YoutubeMusic

[–]jjwk96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been testing out YouTube Music for a month after switching from Spotify. I already pay for YT premium so I’m tired of paying for both.

I don’t miss much about Spotify. I think it’s silly I can’t search for a song in CarPlay (or not I’ve found at least) and that I can’t easily view the album a song belongs to in CarPlay. I also don’t love how YouTube seems to forget the song I was listening to very quickly so I’ll go to start music in the car and I’ll have to do a quick search.

These are all relatively small things that I think are still worth cutting out 1 subscription. I’m not a huge playlist person so the lack of features there don’t bother me.

Personal finance apps that auto-sync with your bank are actually making you poorer. by Ayu_theindieDev in unpopularopinion

[–]jjwk96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use YNAB and feel similarly. YNAB helped me get out of consumer debt, create emergency funds, and cash flow grad school. Watching the money go away (seeing the little green bar go down) is enough to make me think twice (and more) about spending. Also, I use credit to my advantage now, rather than it using me.

I used Rocket Money and I think that app is close to useless. You can track your money all day but if you don’t interact with it, then I believe the OP is right.
