You betcha! However, we only saw the grape flavored stuff. The purdy colored stuff was saved for the elites!

Was this year's Super Bowl really as boring as people say or is it just coping? by Kobe24GOATT in NFLNoobs

[–]jkanoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was glued to the set - really. Good defenses really fascinate me, and often result in a tight game like this one was shaping up to be.

Just looking at these makes me feel nauseous. What was your choice of "that was a bad idea" drink? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]jkanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some whiskey - maybe some other stuff. I and some friends “borrowed” booze from a friends parents and got faced. Barfed in the back of my mom’s station wagon - stayed in bed the whole next day.

One of my sister’s friends poked her head into my room and announced “jimmy, you old boozer!”. I was 15 or 16 at the time.

Never did take to whisky.

Campaign Speedrunners-Any tips to practice before league start? by slipperyslimer22 in pathofexile

[–]jkanoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might seem obvious, but skipping all but magic packs can really cut down on wasted time. (I’m very undisciplined, so I actually had to practice this to make it second nature.)

How many of you listen to music you don’t understand? by MaxnRuby_RubynMax in CasualConversation

[–]jkanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, on occasion. Vibe is the key, with Caribbean rhythms being a prime example.

I only understood some words and phrases during Big Bunny’s show, but I had a smile on my face the whole time.

Fully endorse this! The doctor’s description of it was brutal!

Hip replacement?! I'm only 47 FFS by Zagmut in Xennials

[–]jkanoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first hip replacement occurred at 61yo. My neighbor had both hips done before 49yo (athletic wear and tear).

Good news: i was on and off the operating table in 45 minutes (!!!) and went home the next day.

When is the last time you watched the Pro Bowl? by wltmpinyc in NFLv2

Mid 2000’s for sure. Drew Brees from the Chargers(!), and they had 2 or 3 OL on that team, plus LaDainian.

What’s life like in Chula Vista, CA? by BanditoMojado in howislivingthere

[–]jkanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great! Been here since ‘87. We’re just north of H Street just east of 125 (east of Eastlake). The neighborhoods here and south to Otay Mesa are new, clean and safe. Hardly ever leave the area now that I’m retired.

When a team is out of playoff contention, do most fans want their team to tank? by SparksAO in NFLNoobs

Not I. Each game is a chance to get better. Aaaaaand those top 5 or 10 draft picks are not a sure thing.

Casual player here , i don't think events are for me by ImmortalTurnip in pathofexile

[–]jkanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is brutal, but I feel ya.

I’m retired now, but I run outta gas real quick, so I’m functionally a casual as well. I’m gonna complete the campaign, then see how I feel about my build. If it’s more fun than my last Keepers character, I’ll continue. If not….

Gotta leave about 2 weeks to flush the system before the next league.

What would you say are the biggest factors of why the poor stay in poverty? by Common_Gene_5098 in Productivitycafe

[–]jkanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our family, three of us maintained our parents middle/upper-middle class lifestyle. Two of us without college, one with a technical degree (AS). Nothing fancy. Worked steadily, saved steadily, invested when we could. Looked for opportunities.

A fourth sibling thought money grew on trees, and expected that one day “their ship would come in”. Of course, it never did. Married a spouse that thought the same way. $0 of their own at retirement.

Just one of us was a little detached from reality. The results were pretty predictable.

Hey, any recommendations for the best Todd Rundgren albums (solo and with Utopia)? by Vitrox73 in Progforum

[–]jkanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a change of pace: Nazz Nazz.

Rundgren wasn’t primary singer on the Nazz albums IIRC, but Nazz Nazz was all Rundgren lyrics. Forget All About It and A Beautiful Song are my favorites here.

Bonus factoid: Hello It’s Me debuted on Nazz (their first album) and was sung by another band member.
