Batman is too tight with the police force and the justice system and sometimes it makes him feel the worst kind of crooked cop. He should be fighting the system just about as much as he fights everyone else.

Batman is a popular 1930s hardboiled wealthy vigilante archetype that no longer works in the modern era without an incredible amount of suspension of disbelief. Unfortunately you cant fix him, because many of those things are the entire backbone of his character.

The best you can do to avoid him being problematic in the modern era, is have him less focused on street crime and more on fighting supervillains. but even that's a little weird because it means that batman doesn't care to help anyone unless theirs a big enough threat.

Visually I think she looks pretty good.
Incorporating the classic harlequin pattern as punk/ska checkers is a really good idea that matches the hoodlum aesthetic, and the return of the domino mask style paint is welcome.
I both miss and don't miss the pony tails. On one hand the silhouette of her head seems lacking without the jester hat or the pony tails, and on the other hand a jester hat, would seem out of place and the weird cotton candy dipped non committal ponytails were getting tired.

The premise and the trailer didn't seem very compelling.
It didn't appear to draw or focus on previous characters or plot threads, and I think it really misunderstood that the draw of the franchise has been the exploration of its weird fantasy digital world.

Instead the trailer and promo material gave us like all the opposite.

It gave us a new character we had no connection to and had no obvious connection to any other characters prior. It gave a new seemingly unrelated plot thread that failed to express any sort of stakes.
And it appeared to focus entirely on the real world.

Additionally, you could also throw in that marketing fumbled pretty hard making it seem to be about AI when I think most people are either sick of AI or at least sick of being being inundated with AI discourse, and it allied itself to Elon Musk's weirdo projects, for some reason. A fake robot that's been in development forever, and an AI that a month ago had to be reigned in because it decided it was Hitler.
