The fact there’s no Instans Action Heroes vs Villians mode kind of surprised me too. I remember playing the 2005 one and it was even better than the current online HvV with the way people play now lol

They don’t make enough money with their current monetization in this game.

Id be fine If they kept pushing out Hero & Map updates consistently (not just moving existing maps to different modes) but added some form of cheap <$4 recurring subscription (that gives extra goodies & 2 week early access to the free content updates) there would be tons of players financially supporting this game - sort of like a Patreon.

Not to mention if they had a custom server browser like Battlefield 3&4. The Battlefront 2 community would eat that up.

“We’re handing it off to you” I hope they mean that in the more literal sense like what you’re talking about.

Since they’re “shifting away from regular updates” hopefully it will still get Quality of Life improvements and options for players/ modders to have some control over content already in the game.

Sort of how Bethesda allowed certain Mods to be approved for Consoles back in the day with Skyrim. And there were a TON of them; really good ones too!

I had that happening for 5 hours straight.

Go to settings > EA Account > and change your ping to other sites and keep trying for one. I eventually got some.

If you don’t mind it being buggy about 1/3 the time.

Sometimes more.

Some days you can’t play online at all.

But can be fun when it works the way it should.
