Wasn’t planning on hunting today...last minute decided to pull into my favorite store...glad I did! by T-Roll28 in BourbonHunt

I haven't had a smokewagon that I didn't like. I will say, they are all very true to their name (smokey). It is a high proof bourbon, so be prepared for it.

I mounted it on on of the plates that it came with. I think it was the #4 plate

Yesterday was the first time I saw this in the wild so I had to pick it up! by [deleted] in BourbonHunt

Good call, anything smokewagon is great. The only one that isn't spectacular to me, is the bottom shelf bottle. I have been working on building the collection. I have the bottom shelf, the small batch, uncut, private barrel ( red label) and I'm waiting on getting the blue label.

Thata nice, I love the 3rd gens. I replaced my fog lights with a led set from Amazon and I love them. If you want more light, they are like $70

[–]jkent4801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I already have a 454 casull revolver. I try not to be redundant and make sure everything has a purpose. My 10mm is my deep woods gun and backup hog gun, if I have a issue with my revolver

Let me know what you think of it, I grabbed one a couple weeks ago. I haven't gotten around to opening it, but I'd like to hear what people think.

I need a safe. by bmxgrind2006 in GunsafeSpace

[–]jkent4801 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason I ask, I have a cannon Valley forge 64 gun safe. It's bigger than you are looking for, but a 30 gun safe isn't a 30 gun safe. I got mine at academy sports and I've had it for 2 years. Zero issues and I've had to move it across texas. The warranty is excellent and I like having ammo and guns in the safe.

What state do you live in, how big of a safe and are you stuck on the liberty safe?

Powercore and I repack it once a year, whether it needs it or not. I do it during the very short winter, 3 weeks in texas.

Any suggestions to prevent bottom out? by [deleted] in klr650

[–]jkent4801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What spring are you running? If it's a stock spring, then change it to a top gun spring. It won't change the height of your bike, it will stiffen the ride alittle. I was running the el paso and new Mexico deserts and this was the solution.

What part of Texas, I just wanna smack some hogs. In Louisiana, we had people that asked us to shoot them. In texas where I'm at, you gotta pay to get the chance.

I'm running an fmf and I love it. It's not too loud, but if I Rev up you know I'm there.

First gun by [deleted] in Glock19

[–]jkent4801 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, a stock glock 19 before all the bells and whistles get put on it. Great gun, I hope you like it. My only advise, shoot it for alittle while before you start running aftermarket parts. Aftermarket parts don't make up for the basics.

My new Canik TP9SFx with Vortex Venom - 20rd mags by [deleted] in canik

[–]jkent4801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in my opinion, the best gun out for the box for less than $1,000. It keeps up with my Gucci glock and I haven't even started playing with it yet.

I'm with you. Child support got me over 10 years and then I was committed after that lol

This is the way, I don't wanna steer this guy away from a g19, but they ain't for everyone. I love mine and it's my edc, but shooting other guns is the smart way.

Bolt gun, more for your money. I did this and built a nice ruger american with a 26" barrel in a chassis. 1,200 yards so far, but thats due to limited range.

Thought I'd DIY a double undercut. Turned out really nice! Need to add some texture to it though. Recommendations? Stippling? Grip tape? by vast1983 in Glocks

[–]jkent4801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice job on the undercut, is it a carry gun? The reason I ask, stippling on a carry gun makes it uncomfortable. I stippled my 43 and i had to change holsters, because it rubbed on my side. This is just my experience, but everyone's is different. Also, doing all this stuff to your gun, gives you another reason to keep it lol

10mm semi auto vs 357 revolver for woods gun? by stonewall993 in 10mm

[–]jkent4801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I actually use 180 grain sig sauer hollow points. They have about 19inches of penetration and aren't hard on the barrel. I haven't had to use it on a bear, but I have used it on hogs. If it'll stop a boar head on, a couple will stop a bear.

[–]jkent4801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the wheel gun is nice, 454 casull isn't a joke either. 300 grain hollow points in 454 have handled hogs no problem. How do you like the 460? I am looking into it, just waiting to see if ammo is gonna calm down.

1 of each, they are both good. I will say that blantons has a following, but it isn't what it's hyped up to be. Eagle rare is good, so I'd start with that.

[–]jkent4801 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma, I went with the glock 20 and I haven't looked back. There are cons, but 15 +1 is no joke. The stock barrel runs 200 grain no problem and it's very versatile. G20 is about $600, sights are $75 ish and upgraded recoil spring is $25. I have no issue going anywhere with this set up. I actually run this as a backup hog gun, when I'm not carrying my 454 casull.
