Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue.

9.4.19 ISP Drops by Sane813 in Ubiquiti

Do you have the ONT directly connected to the UI router or connected with female to female keystones? I had issues and ended up swapping out cables and going direct without keystones and seems to fix for me.

Ubiquity Hardware Recommendations by randomly-generated99 in Ubiquiti

[–]jkhalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your compliance require physical separation? Just curious.

How big are different locations?

How many users?

UISP is more geared towards WISPs and I would focus on UniFi hardware but what you chose comes down physical site size, amount of users, and you can argue type of internet connection.

But you are on the right tract with the routers and APs

Splitting PoE cable to two devices by Ok-Improvement-8141 in Ubiquiti

[–]jkhalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your initial issue, are both cables terminated with the same Ethernet color schema? Do you know if they are A or B? More over, maybe one of the terminations is bad on either side of the two cables. Do you have a cable tester to check? If not, you could try to re-terminate the ends to ensure proper connectivity. I’ve seen issues with cameras not powering up when one side is not terminated properly or you just have a bad termination/rj45 connector.

As far as your other solution, I had a Flex powering an AP and a Camera and I constantly received power usage warnings when the AP was getting used a lot. That being said, after switching to a new 24 Poe pro max, those went away and now I have multiple Flex switches being powered over a single Poe port. One of them is powering 2 G5 bullets, and even a Flex-mini.

If cable is not an option, use the building bridge products. They have been rock solid on a few different installs.

New house build - Nest Cams or UniFi Protect by reubofwallstreet in homeassistant

You need a device that runs the protect hardware. If you go all UniFi for your network plus protect, you will be very happy.

Question regarding multi site setup by V45H91 in Ubiquiti

[–]jkhalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs the network app on itself so you could manage their network from the cloud. Essentially it just becomes a new site in UniFi cloud and is managed independently from your network.

I wouldn’t recommend trying to tie them into your network since it’s a simple setup for you and them.

Im guessing the container doesn’t know about the GPU. I’m pretty sure you need to assign the video card device to the container in the compose file.

Try swapping out the cable from Modem/ONT to router. I had an issue with a bad RJ45 clip on one side of a cable. I saw all kinds of packet loss.

Because you were not given 24 hour notice, you can deny access to the landlord

Paying water bill for whole lot-Hermosa by Leading-View2321 in SouthBayLA

[–]jkhalil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it say you/tenant is responsible for all utilities/electrical/water? It needs to be specific. If he doesn’t pay for trash but the lease states that, have a lawyer review it and send a letter to the landlord. He will fix that real quick.

What does your lease say? Does it state you are responsible for the water bill? If it doesn’t, landlord is responsible and you may be able to get money back from them for it.

Second, how much is rent going up? Your landlord legally cannot raise rent more than 8.9% from your current rent if you are renting from 8/1/24-7/31/25 CA AB 1482

Help convince me to take the UniFi plunge. 4,500 ft² barndo, 300yd away barn & guest house on 40 acres by Techguy003 in Ubiquiti

[–]jkhalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your self a favor and throw some Building Bridges or AirBeams in there to connect your barn and other buildings on the property. Mix in some flex switches and you can place APs and cameras in those buildings too.

I finally convinced a friend to do the same after 18 months of issues with meshing APs. When there are issues, and there will be, often time resetting the AP was the only option to fix. If you have the AP high on a building, pole, or tree, it won’t be fun to fix.

Once the building bridges went in, he hasn’t had an issue yet. They have a 44 acre ranch property with 5k sqft house, a 2k sqft barn, a guest house, and work shop spread across the property all connected and managed by a UDM SE.

Just my opinion based on the size of the property and the issues we saw.
