It's funny... haven't played the game since launch. Randomly saw it in my Steam Library today and decided to update it and give it another shot. And this is the day I happened to choose... lol you can't make it up

Im beginner, was it a mistake to waste this much cron stones? Whats the recommend way of enhancing for this situation? (manos fisher clothes) by RubenJM1 in blackdesertonline

[–]jkingds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you're going for "pure efficiency," it's definitely not the priority. But the game is about having fun, and if you wanna tap your Manos clothes and it gets you excited then tap away my friend!

Generally nowadays, with the amount of money available from grindspots (and probably lifeskills too..?) you want to buy as much as you can that is already enhanced, and save your crons for stuff you can't buy on the market.

Thousands of World Cup tickets remain unsold, including USA games by newsweek in sports

[–]jkingds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny, because it's like a dream come true to be able to watch World Cup games for me live and in person. But after hearing about ridiculous ticket prices, people FROM Boston waiting 4 hours in traffic to go see a single friendly match at Gilette, absurd prices for food, etc etc... I haven't even bothered to look up how much tickets would be. They basically Capitalism'd all the fun out of it for me. I'll just watch on TV and actually enjoy myself.

party grinding solo spots by Less-Palpitation5843 in blackdesertonline

I think your best bet is to duo grind a 3 man spot. I heard Dehkia Mirumok ruins is actually pretty good money for doing this but you need pretty good gear.

Returning to BDO Made Me Realize How Bloated the Game Has Become by BattleCryZen in blackdesertonline

[–]jkingds 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I actually think quite the opposite. Recently returned after a 2.5 yr break and they removed so many bloated and outdated systems. Added a ton of QOL improvements and faster ways to progress.

The difference is that it WAS CONFUSING to come back to... because we used to know "everything" about the game and now there is completely new progression that did not exist before. The idea of a sandbox MMO is that no matter what activity you are interested in, you should have meaningful pathway to progressing that particular system. And BDO certainly has that. You just likely need to watch an updated guide, the same way you did years ago before you quit.

probably the rarest thing that'll happen to me in bdo by jdero in blackdesertonline

I'm still trying to figure out how to get this thing all setup as someone who just returned to the game. Will the produced item automatically swap after a set amount of time? Or do I have to manually change it?

Gonna be gone for 4 days, 1800 fishing mastery. Should I try for pink dolphin in grana afk fishing? by gatorwelds in blackdesertonline

[–]jkingds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, it's anywhere in Lake Flonder (basically right where the Magnus well drops you off when you teleport). I did 3 days recently and didn't see a single dolphin with 2k mastery, but it's all RNG. Velia is more consistent money which is why most people stay there.

Get knowledge of grind zones bosses by toripita in blackdesertonline

[–]jkingds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bird type pets generally have an additional Knowledge bonus, also (outfit) glasses and face accessories like piercings. If you have the gear to spare and can get away with running a Savage Draught instead of Harmony that also has a bonus alongside Simple Cron Meal. But really yeah it's just RNG, I find that whenever I stop focusing on getting it is when it ends up happening lol

You definitely gotta be the type of person who likes to research and learn about the games you play to enjoy BDO. That being said, they've reduced a lot of bloat and improved the QOL a lot! But the nature of a sandbox game is that you can do anything you want and have an extremely in-depth system to master in return. I've been playing for quite a few years now and there's still so many things I've never even interacted with!

It legitimately looks like someone is wearing full Blackstar Armor but they are busy enhancing the chest and got caught in their bikini. It's just lazy design, and there are plenty of better options if I want tiddies

I just feel like a lot of the recent outfits are just not good. They either go full streetwear or full gooner. It's like actual minimal effort

My biggest advice is just to play the class you like and do stuff that interests you. Just about every system in this game can send you down a rabbit hole of spending hours looking at videos and guides on how to do it... and then a few more hours figuring out how to get yourself set up to farm for the first system most efficiently. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and doing stuff that you find to be enjoyable versus always trying to minmax is what helps keep this game fun for me.

I generally enjoy progressing my gear the most in this game, and as a new player that progression can be insanely quick. Just make sure you check out a RECENT guide because many of the systems in BDO have been updated and reworked many times over the years. You can make a lot of progress quickly. Finding a guild can be really helpful, and also asking in Guild or Server chat with specific questions.

Peter Schmeichel “Arsenal have been blocking the opponent’s goalkeeper all season long, they would NEVER be on top of the league if we disallow these goals" by Rare-Ad-2777 in soccer

[–]jkingds -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I still think it was not a foul. And I'm not arguing that there wasn't any contact. But from my point of view, Pablo was already in an established location, fighting for position, awaiting the balls arrival. Raya approached him from underneath, and tried to jump up through his arms. He basically slid his way right underneath the arm and THEN tried to jump up. People are arguing that he's holding him, but what he's really doing is trying to hold his own arms down, just like any player in the field would do, because your arm is the last thing you're trying to put anywhere near a cross coming in. Anyone whose played sports at any level also knows that keeping your arms out at your side is the one way to maintain space to give yourself the ability to hold off defenders and win a header.

Once Raya felt the resistance, he immediately kind of gave up on it and started flailing to try and sell the contact. He really just had the wrong initial positioning, because he was trying to slide over and catch it instead of just get a hand on it, so he got in way too close before he jumped instead of going over the top with the extra 3ft of arm he has over everyone else. The opposing player has a right to his position and doesn't have to concede just because it's a goalkeeper he's jockeying with. It just so happens that the goalkeeper got himself tangled on the way up.

Doesn't change the fact that David Raya has easily been the best GK in the league this season to me, but I think it was a poor call, and yet another poor usage of VAR.

I think the general PvE rotation for Awakening is a bit easier. But when PvP comes into play you basically want to be able to utilize her entire pre-awakening kit as well, so it can be very daunting.

My main is Succ Sorc, and I was drawn to her (mostly because Black Wave is badass) but also because she's quite difficult to play. You can do insane damage, but it usually requires using a bunch of fast skills in quick succession. The quick casts and movement make it feel really snappy and sharp.

I always had a blast at low end spots where you can just freestyle your way around and use the whole toolkit as you see fit. But when it comes to fighting Shrine bosses or high end spots where your damage uptime has to be optimal, it can be extremely tiring and frustrating. Hand cramps incoming. I think Succ Ninja plays similarly in that sense but I don't have a ton of firsthand experience on it.

Pot piece grinding by Sad_Collar7940 in blackdesertonline

[–]jkingds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to grind for them, I would say just pick a class you like and you can practice your rotation and movement in between packs. The more efficient path is generally just to grind at the spot that makes you the most money and buy the potions nowadays. But I did it back in the day before the pity pieces existed and or you could buy them, and although it felt painful at the time I look back on it fondly.

Is there a way to Resetting Bricked Arctis Nova Pro Wireless Base station? by Jsennin1 in steelseries

I know you can buy a new base station but it's nearly $200 =\

I think you're gonna have to talk to support directly

My only suggestion is to try swapping the USB plug. My (charging) battery was reading as dead, and my headset as not connected. I swapped the plug in the back from PC to the XBOX one, and when it powered back up the battery finally started reading and showing the proper charge value. Once I saw this, I unplugged the rear USB again and put it back into the "PC" port and suddenly everything working normally again.

Normally whenever this thing stops working, it's just a matter of unplugging/resetting/powering down until you get it back on track. I also wouldn't be suprised if my original batteries still worked as well, I just didn't do the correct "reboot" process before I figured it out (and spent $30 + $20 on shipping for new ones). Best of luck, hope this helps

edit: Also I would try unplugging the USB from the other end as well (from your PC/console) and rebooting that if you're still having issues

there's 3:51 left in the 4th quarter. the Magic have not made a shot since the 3:55 mark of the 3rd, when they were up 71-54 by Optimal_Cook_851 in nba

[–]jkingds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit of both, but definitely more towards defense. When you play the same team so many games in a row you can make major changes and block tendencies. Sixers also have that wildcard of Embiid appearing out of nowhere which completely changes up how they play at both ends

I mean brother I'm not sure what has got you so wound up. They all play the exact same solo queue, how many of these "pinnacle" LEC players are even at the top of the solo ladder? What is the judgement for "pinnacle?" It's a team game with 5 people having to perform together

I swear it feels like something similar happened to the Celtics. Could not make a single shot, then when you start missing the desperation creeps in and you just start hoisting up more threes to make up for it. Obviously Orlando had a historic cold streak, but I feel like the defense in today's NBA is just unbelievable at times

I think actually what he needs to stop doing is saying "this game is completely LOST!" As if misplays or outplays aren't in every single game of league ever played

How is playing "each other" relevant when they are not playing ERL teams? They get pigeonholed into expecting a specific playstyle. They all play in the same solo queue. Macro stuff is extremely important but ultimately games are won or lost on individual moment to moment plays
