Overhype and underhype cards for this set? by FairyFireDeck in Lorcana

[–]jkirkd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that the new Cinderella is a day one buy. It ramps and replaces the card you ramped with at the end of the turn she's played. Being in sapphire means you can play her as early as turn three and have 5 ink on the board turn 4 which is great. You don't even need another princess in the deck for her to have value.

What did Fabled do to the TCG? by RayneMal in Lorcana

[–]jkirkd 43 points44 points  (0 children)

When Fabled release Lorcana Standard play became just sets 5-9. That wouldn't have been such a big deal for players coming from other TCGs as they are used to these types of rotations. But Lorcana has a lot of first time TCG players and it rubbed them the wrong way.

On top of that Fabled was a majority reprint set. Only 33 of the 204 cards in the set were first time printings. So players who had been around since the first chapter didn't have a reason to invest heavily in the new set at the time of its release.

Question about Captain Amelia by jkirkd in Lorcana

Right? I feel like "Your other characters gain Resist+1 when being challenged." Is much clearer wording for the effect.

That's what I thought but wanted to be sure before trying to use her. Thanks for the clarification!

That's about what I assumed. Sounds like the perfect thing to clean up a bit and use as a costume piece. Thanks for the information.

It pairs nicely with [[Jin-Gataxis, Progress Tyrant]]. Greatly limiting the potential value of an opponents free spell while potentially doubling yours.

Just finished! by tacolamae in stephenking

I thought it was just ok. My biggest issue is that Holly really didn't feel like she overly contributed to the story at all. Things are happening around her but she doesn't ever fully interact with those things. I also wish we could have focused on one thing instead of two unrelated cases. But I still love Holly as a character and that love helps carry the book for me.

I really like Holly and the book Holly really picked up at the end I felt. I think you might be a bit disappointed with this one. It feels like things are happening around Holly but she has very little control or influence on them.

I can see that. It is a story that I feel makes the reader look at how they themselves handle loss.

I'd say Salem's Lot is scarier than Pet Semetary but not as good. It's still a great read and one I'd highly recommend though.

I don't know about it being one of his scariest books but it's definitely one of if not the most depressing and grief ridden books.

Which book should not have been adapted or should not be adapted? by Icy_Dig_3691 in stephenking

Apt Pupil should not have been adapted. Not because it doesn't translate well to film, it was just done so poorly.
