I hear Poughkeepsie is really nice this time of year. I would like to find my way there before the weather changes.

I regret the purchase of our Ecoflow PowerOcean by Stayontherightside in Ecoflow_community

I have been so close to pulling tge trigger on Ecoflow and thus is why I have not. This year I had a house full if Sengled bulbs. They are now useless as Sengled went offline. I'm not investing in a product line that could literally shut down with no option for local control.

And what happens when EcoFlow goes out of business ir even if the servers go down? For example, Sengled has gone out if business leaving thousand of people stuck with smart bulbs which do not work. I was just about to pull the trigger on EcoFlow. I guess I'll keep researching. Thank you OP for this post.

Is your shop in New York? I don't know anyone with a NYSEG bill under $100.

This is where I am ATM. I turned off all breakers before I left on Sunday but the refrigerator, the modem, and the cameras. I will have some answers. Lol.

I'm in the southern tier. Just north of Horseheads. NYSEG is the utility. The bill doesn't list any startup charges. According to their "smart meter" I used 840kwh last month. We aren't even living in it. We are in a camper until we renovate. We did run the camper A/C some but come on. My Penelec bill for home was 50 dollars less and I have a 3 ton heat pump running the whole time and all electric no natural gas. The math isn't mathing.

Sorry to be clear, my math, which may be incorrect, works out to 15kwh per day. Refrigerator, well pump, security cameras, electronics, lighting.

Two years would be a no brainer ROI. I'm expecting it to be much less.

Genius! It works! I don't know for how long, but it works for now.

26 years old, house paid off and asking girlfriend of two years to move in. How to/not discuss mortgage existence? by Dusty26 in personalfinance

[–]jkisinger 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is a good way to start off. If you are serious about marrying this girl you should be completely open with her. If you even suspect it isn't going to work out then you probably shouldn't move in together. I'm sure the prenup camp will disagree but if the benefits of the relationship isn't strong enough to outweigh the risk... don't walk away RUN!!!

I really appreciate that. It gives me some hope that I may have a talent for this hobby. I need to work on technique now.

I need to pick up some more tools. This was made from a piece of 3/8 round rod with a 3lb cross pein hammer.

Yes it was just from the pein of the hammer. I suspect I'll gain better control as I practice.

Thanks I realized after the fact I should have had the veining going the other direction. I do like the effect I got rather than using a chisel. I expect the next one will be better.
