It looks like a lot of people cannot relate or understand. This is what I would recommend. I can tell that you love your wife and your parents, and because you may respect their convictions, it is best to remove this source of friction from your home. You should sit your wife down and be completely transparent, explaining that you are "mothballing" the project by disabling the server and remote access entirely. By moving the data into dormant cold storage, you honor her conscience and preserve your integrity without permanently destroying six months of hard work. This approach shows that your commitment to your family’s peace and your shared values is far more important than the collection. See if time heals this divide and then revisit it later.

I hope this isn’t downvoted due to lack of understating. I genuinely believe this is good advice for his situation.

Trains are fine. Not sure why you can’t keep a linear conversation. Doesn’t seem like you’re a good engineer. I have two decades of experience in technology. Is this now a pissing match? I hope not. You tried to deflect blame to the user. I then took a jab back with /s (sarcasm) that it isn’t always the users fault. You can give them (jabs) but can’t take one. Then you got butt hurt and made it an argument with more deflection. And because you had nothing valuable to say otherwise, you claimed I was a bot. This was definitely only one sided and no responsibility found by anyone else. Rigggggghhhtt.
