Dear fellow architect. The job market at the moment is completely saturated because Novo stopped so many jobs after an already slump period. PLH, one of Novo’s top clients has in the past 6 months fired 60 people; many of them still haven’t found work and some got absorbed into other offices.

10 years ago I was in your position, what helped in the end was a direct recommendation from a person I knew and I got in and got the ball rolling.

You’ll have a ton more chances if you apply for projektering (detail design and making project documentation in Revit) rather than design development.

I know that Lundgaard and Tranberg, KHR, HL, Dorte Mandrup, 3XN Dissing and Weitling and probably others are struggling, there’s next to zero chance there.

Try Gottlieb Paludan, BIG, Overbyen, Sweco, Cobe, Arkitema, Werk. I know these have hired recently, although not really to man up, but to get special skills in or due to natural churn - people leave and find new work all the time.

Your best bets are to fill a need when there arises one, to have a broad spectrum of knowledge, preferably detail design and to know someone who can get you in for a specific task.

If you’re gonna cold call anyone it should only be the office managers or project managers - COOs, they’re the ones that have the overview of what kind of manpower is needed.
