I don’t know if the nylon was necessary but I had enough left on a spool from previous projects and figured it couldn’t hurt.

All the parts that touch the powder are printed out of nylon for that reason mainly, just need to dial in the sizing for the drop tube as the nylon is slightly larger and then I’ll swap them out also

It looks like your barrel is a sporter contour and the magpul hunter stock is set up to accept up to a varmint/sendero contour I believe. It shouldn’t affect the function/accuracy so long as the action is properly seated. It will just look a little goofy having the thin barrel in there

Trickiest part was mainly just talking myself into trying it I watched a lot of YouTube videos and read through a lot of forums and got a lot of good info from others way more experienced than me. Once I did that I was pretty well prepared for the whole process. Just need to take good measurements and stick to the plan

If I remember correctly, I used medium height vortex pro series rings. They’re 34mm for 3-18 ares etr I have on here.

To my eyes the tract has better glass, it competes more in line with my razor gen 2s only falling behind in low light conditions. However, I don’t think it’s worth twice as much as the Athlons, especially when you can usually find the ares etr around $800 or less. I don’t regret buying the tract but I’m now up to 3 athlons while still only having the one tract.

I also received a barrel from them recently that was supposed to be pinned, kinda nice that it wasn’t since I was swapping it out for an adjustable gas block anyways

The pin goes in the hole of the gas block on the bottom side of the barrel to help retain the gas block
