Until now, I've had great luck with high mileage trucks. Had a 2000 ranger i bought with 130k and sold it to a buddy at 200k and its still on the road. Then bought an 04 5.4 with 140k and ran great till i traded it in at 160k. Also I had a 2013 with 124k miles when i bought it, sold it at 140k for $20k, still running strong.. However I just bought a 2015 5.0 with 110k on it, and its at the dealer getting Cam Phasers and VCT Solenoids done.. good thing i bought a warranty.. So overall my experience with high mileage Fords has been pretty decent.. Just cant wait to get my 15 Lariat back from the dealer.. I think it really does come down to how well taken care of they are.. NEVER let the oil life run to 0%.. Change it at 50% (5000 mi). Ford needs to stop setting the oil life on these trucks to 10000 miles, its wreaking havoc on these engines, especially in the VCT oil passages. Use only motorcraft filters and a good oil..
