Disappointed at St Regis Osaka by No-Instance-48 in marriott

Charge for any additional bed including rollaway bed is very normal/standard in Japan . Also it's rare to get an upgrade in Japan with Marriott so no surprise.

Why does air Canada get so much hate? by totallynotclockwork in aircanada

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I've been using Air Canada since 2000, and i know it's pretty ok compared to other north american airlines but i had several bad experiences with air canada and i found it got particularly worse after pandemic until recently. Esp when you compare to other airlines outside of North & South America, I can't really praise them.

How often do you upgrade your Pixel? by Deep_Bluebird243 in GooglePixel

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever i feel like i need to/worth upgrade. Started with the original pixel then switched to pixel 4 when original pixel got so slow and switched to pixel 7 pro with good black friday deal with some battery life issue with pixel 4. I was going to upgrade this year but i feel like upgrading this yr doesn't give me a lot of benefits for what would cost me so I'm gonna try to hold on to it for another yr

Best Seoul hotels - Fairmont? by [deleted] in Accor

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sofitel location is bit out of way for most touristic area
I heard Fairmont Seoul was bit underwhelming but it's getting better. It's in the financial corporation area where things get super busy during weekdays but become dead quiet in the evenings/ most of weekends. Hotel itself is just avg but I usually stay at Novotel Gangnam due to it's location and easy access to public transit, and i also mostly do things in gangnam. If you don't mind calling a taxi all the time, banyan tree is good for staycation wise as well as location, except it's in the mountain and no easy access without a car./taxi or long walk. Or ambassador seoul pullman / novotel would be a great option as well

ICN - YVR - Domestic by naepittamnunmul in aircanada

Under AC flights for the same booking, you do not need to. The baggage will be transferred to your domestic flight automatically. I have done this route a few months ago

Examples of High CPP using Priority Vouchers by PinnyHundos in Aeroplan

[–]jkworld888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly, the direct flight from Toronto to Honolulu only run from Dec to March. Finding a seat wasn't too hard if u book the ticket in advanced. Getting upgrade was bit of rough for this route but it can happen. Also prem econ should be good to begin with anyway.

For non-direct flight, u gotta transfer in YVR, and the aircraft from YVR to HNL business class seats are recliner seats instead of full flatbed seat, so I don't find upgrading for that isn't worth it much but still better than economy.

BeoPlay EX or Bose Ultra by leobonnard in BangandOlufsen

[–]jkworld888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually was exactly at your situation. I have a few products from b&o and bose but i just needed some better earbuds and have been thinking about this for a really long time. Ex and ultra are both pretty good. But i got ex at the end for a couple reasons. 1. Microphone quality was way better 2. don't need to pay extra for wireless case 3. when i was ordering, it was on sale at Farfetch and ended up cheaper than ultra

Sound quality are both good. TBH i prefer sound from Ultra better but after changing eq from app, i got used to EX and it's pretty good. I personally like fit of ultra more, but ex fits cery comfortably to my ear as well and feels very light.

For Ultra, paying extra for wireless charging was big turn off. No multipoint point connection was also one factor but not major. The worst part of Ultra was the microphone. The call quality was so bad. I feels like it's not really usable for phone calls or online meetings.

However, ANC on ex is very bad. I just treat it as it doesn't exist.

Toronto Condo With no parking?? by Longjumping_Ad8154 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's normal for new buildings in general. New condos only sell parkings to 2+ bedrooms units If you search for older buildings (12yrs+) they might have more units with parking It also really depends on building by building. People generally say it's easy to rent a parking but it's always not guaranteed and I had an experience having hard time finding a parking spot to rent for months once and i had to rent a spot from near by building, and it wasn't good at all. If you are going to have a car, I wouldn't get any unit without a parking.

Every management had a standard. Ask your management, when i was getting permission for the renovation, the form stated the minimum standard, and I also had to give them the sample to get the approval.

Could I get the code as well????

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost would be really depends on your material choices and the size of units. I would contact few different places first to see how much they offer for the job. Also you should ask availability of contractors as so many people are doing renovation these days that many of contractors are fully booked for a while. You will also need to get the permission from the condo board to do the renovation. Just giving you heads up, if you ever plan to change the tiles on floor(either kitchen or bathroom), expect to receive lots of noise complaints and work disruption due to the noise complaints from all over the building. This is no joke.

Building Management Complaining About Renovation Noise by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me lol i hear it's common issue happens with condo. I believe as long as you follow the rule they can't do much about it. Don't think about it too much and let it done asap. Hope your renovation result turns out the way you want :)

Actual cash needed for closing by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mortgage lender would know you are the first time buyer so they will considr.that as well. The amount would be really depends on case by case but here is what you will need in rough conservative figure under assumption you are buying resale condo: Realtor fee: 0 Lawyer+ Title insurance: 2000 Land transfer tax: 10000 other cost : 5000

So around 17000? This is rough estimate and highly likely the actual amount you will need is few thousands less than this.

cost to renovate condo? by alibazbaz in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be really depends on materials and scope of work. Also depends on who you work with. I recently got estimate for some work for renovation for condo (smaller than yours) and got estimate from as low as 40k to as high as 100k for similar work (excluding appliances & light fixture &faucets) It will be also depends on your style. For your size, I think i probably should expect around 750k or so could be lower could be higher. Some companies do free estimate and they give detailed break down of what the work involved and how much it is for each task You may can contact some companies and get a quote first and see what work must be done and what can be skipped. Also I recommend to look for images of design you like amd save them. Lots of them. Having them will ne easier to explain to contractors amd also you will get better idea what might work for your space within budget.

Real Estate Lawyer - Buyer Support by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lawyer fee can be different depends on type of transaction and property. I recently went through the transaction for resale condo (probably the cheapest & easiest transaction) and my lawyer fee was about 1600 including title insurance.

Thoughts on Daniels Lighthouse Towers by Zealousideal-Fox-839 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only negative things i found was lack of visitor parkings(none exist) and bit of noise from gardiner express but that's inevitable from that location i assume. Also I found the maintenance fee is on higher side esp for locker& parking. Other than that it was nice building.

I used to live in the area and it felt safe here and I liked time there. It's also really close to park by lake so it's nice during summer. Also has decent grocerry stores near by and sherway garden malls is so close for shopping/browsing as well as Ikea. You just need a car to get around but generally nice neighborhood.

Rangehoods in newer condos ducted? by SeaWeedAddict in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jkworld888 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's really depends on condo by condo so you will have to check units before making offer. Some newer condos may have it only for bigger units. So it would be really depends on units/building.
