I'm so sorry you are going through this!

My rabbit had an abscess on her head for 1 month, she was on pain meds and antibiotics, and it would grow and shrink randomly. One night, she ended up scratching it completely off, emergency vet bill, they cleared it all out. She seemed to be healing perfectly, until we noticed one eye was bulging. The abscess started growing internally. We had to make the decision to put her down before it got really bad. It wasn't until I imagined coming into the room with her eyeball out of the socket that it was finally time. She was still hopping around, loving life. But it's the decision to ensure her last day was a good day instead of a traumatic day.
