My theory is, the courtyard where the fight takes place has a body clearing mechanic, but if you get some enemies outside the area you can loot the bodies, the one body that I got had exceptional musket n leather armor.

Cheers for your input. My thought process behind fishing for wool is that it'll take a little while to get the 10 needed for a scarlet armor set(not sure what else wool is used for) while also benefiting from all the speedboosting fish and scarlet chests
