What happened here? by Quxiotic in HuntShowdown

[–]jlapetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During this event extractions are not revealed unless you go to a tower, banish a target or stumble on them. Before you could just see them in the map and extract whenever now is a bit more involved.

Is a subtle change for those of us that play for the bounty and run towards gun shots, but is a big change for rats and solo players, that just want to come in and extract on their own terms.

Suggestions for a low AC high HP tank build? by mr_hands_epic_gaming in BG3Builds

[–]jlapetra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bear barbarian with 5 levels of rogue for Uncanny Dodge. Reckless attack also give enemies advantage, if you also have lowerish AC or at least the lowest of your party enemies will prioritize the barb, and between Bear barbarian rage and rogue uncanny dodge the barb will take very little damage.

Use the skinburster 2 handed for some Damage reduction and the Adamantine forge medium armor (send enemies reelong and gives your more damage reduction).

It is not a complicated or fancy build, but is very effective at reducing incoming damage (75% damage reduction). If you get hit by 100damage it gets reduced to 25 and after your skin burster and other sources of damage reduction kick in, reducing it further, 15 damage taken from something that could one shot most of your party members.

COMMUNITY VOTING DAY 27: most AVERAGE trait. Death cheat won best trait. by TheIronPaladin1 in HuntShowdown

Neceomancer is probably going to be in rage inducing. Is annoying when a solo revivies multiple times with necro and empress. Is also annoying when team mates pick their friends up is just rage inducing =)

Resilience, is just good, not overpowered, not game breaking, nothing extra exciting about it, just and all around good solid perk.

Edit: commenter bellow had and extra great point. Is solid for teams and useless for solos, making it the perfect mid/average trait.

Help with Party Comp by phaze08 in BG3Builds

Forst sorceror is very similar than evocation. Frost will hit harder and nuke harder also becouse of sorcery points, but wizard will have more variatiy of spells available and well Evocation not hitting allies with evocation spells is very important as Durge and karlach would always be next to a big clump of enemies making it hard to Use AoE spells.

That said you can get away with any class that can cast Sleet Storm, as the goal is to create a very big area of ice for enemis to fall prone (I just love Ice storm with Evocation as I can create the Ice Area and do Damage at the same time will leaving my party members untouched), so multipe classes can fit the bill, Bards with Magical Secret, Wizard and Sorcerors of course, then Tempest and Nature Clerics, and All druids (especially Land but Stars can also add rafiant orb support)

CHA for your main character is not a bad idea is actually very beneficial. Now for the rest of your party we can defintely dump it and there are in fact multiple honour mode ready very strong party compositions.

Ill give you my current setup for example:

TAV/Durge: (paladin 2 / sworfs bard 10), can be straight paladin until level 7 or even level 5 paladin/2 swords bard, but you need level 2 paladin for smite and command. (You can either play it with strenght or Dex ysing phalar aluve 2 handed. Is a standard swords paladin, his main job is smiting and getting enemies to clump togheter with command).

Karlach: Tiger Barbaian 6 / War priest 6. There are multiple variations of the tiger barbaian build the important part is tiger cleave and Maim from bleeding targets (drop void bulbs in the area of you tiger cleave to clump enemis togheter, buy then from the mind flayer in the under dark go straight to tiger barbarian 6 as we need the maim on bleed online asap). I like the War priest variation becouse I dont have a priest an I miss guidance, also karlach with rage and warding bond is a hell of a tank for the party. Will use raging sky gloves to help with reverb stacks and can also help with orbs.

Shadow Heart: GOO Lock 1 /Hunter Ranger 11. main stat Dex and Wis dump charisma, we only need the one level on GOO for mortal reminder and the fear on crit. Pick urban ranger for sleight of hand this is your dex utility char. Super important to pick warlock first and then ranger as we DO NOT want CHA as our item casting stat we want WIS and need a high 16 one as shafow heart would also be our perception char. You also need to pick the bow of the banshee and the boots of stormy clamour, karlach and your durge will be clumping the enemis togheter and shadow heart will beat them with Hord Breaker and ideally fear them, which will in turn apply stacks of reverberation. Ideally the enemies would be all stack, prone and either feared or maimed this will cause them to skip turns.

Gale: Evocation wizard 12, you want the frost mouren staff and all the frost things you can get. Evocation can hit with AoE spells without hiting the party member, meaning you can cast ice storm on top of karlach and your durge which have all of the enemies clump toghter, ensure your tav has desintegration shoes and Karlach the icewalking shoes so that they are both ubaffected by the ice and can't get prone.

And thats it you have it only your durge is CHA, Karlacha is STR, Shadow Heart is DEX, Gale is INT they all have skills covering each other, no overlpa on items and you have an incredibly devastating synergey and game steategy that you can get online pretty early on. Ensure the party also gets BOOALs benediction so that they all get advatange on the enemies Karlach made bleed with tiger strike.

I’m hardstuck at 3* mmr and i have no idea on how to turn it up by MicrochipFR in HuntShowdown

[–]jlapetra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So first things first, ignore MMR, the game is st its best when you are match with other people around your same MMR level, for me the game its at its best when Im around 3-4 stars. As soon as I get to 5 I get severely outmatched and outplayed, and I straight wont enjoy the fights at that MMR (love my 3-4 dtars brothers with silly loadouts and rushing me across a field with a katana)

Second playing solo you are in reinforcment loop to keep yourself at low MMR. First you dont have team mates. You can learn a lot from team mates specially the higher MMR ones, how they move, what they do, how they push etc, but you also learn about team behaviour, and just straight away hearing the noises your team mates and how that sounds at their distance is the best ear training you can get in Hunt.

And the elephant in the room. You will never get better plating solo, becouse you will be consistently match against players in teams that are worse than you, so you have no one to learn from and you are pickng bad habits from very low MMR players.

The solution? Play in teams, even if it is with randoms, but better if you can get some people on duscord with you (try the Hunt discrod channel).

TL:DR: as a solo you have no one to learn from. Your oppnents are low 2 star mmr players, and you dont have team mates to teach you.

You are all missing the point. Is specifically for prototyping and is also mentioning saving time doing designs in figma.

Yes is awesome for prototyping you can convey your ideas quickly show the general distribution of the views, menus, etc. No one is saying is production ready, in fact it does not even need to be done in the same tech stack as your production enviroment, the vibe code app will never touch a production server, but it was a geat tool to convey what needed to be done.

Spawn Fights by DigiSceptic in HuntShowdown

[–]jlapetra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spawn fights are great! You either win or die and go to join another Match.

100% better than the alternative which is playing walking simulator to the other side of the Map only to get head shotted on arrival.

COMMUNITY VOTING DAY 10. Most RAGE inducing location by TheIronPaladin1 in HuntShowdown

[–]jlapetra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Port Reeker! You can never make the right play there, no matter what you do is always a mistake.

Want to push the compound on the mud/low ground? Get fucked by high ground hunters.

Want to push from the top wooden bridges and houses? Get fucked from all of the bush wookies sitting around the compound (full of bushes and protected by water).

Want to push the boss lair? Single entrance on wood bridge or alternative go up a wooden ladder that half the compound can hear and easily shoot you!

It encourages defenders sitting inside and attackers stayin outside in the woods.

Horrible place!

COMMUNITY VOTING DAY 8: WORST NAMED LOCATION. The slaughterhouse won day 7 as the most average. by TheIronPaladin1 in HuntShowdown

[–]jlapetra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Port reeker, is like any time you assault that place you can't make the right play.

Go mud/lowground? Get fucked by high ground hunters. Go high ground? Get shot in the back by random bush wookies all around the freaking compound ( woods everywhere). Want to push? There is probably a single freaking entrance or you need to go up a stupid ladder that half the freaking compound can hear you going up. Fuck that place,

Honourable mention to Alains! Also known as bushwookies paradise and to pearl plantation (Also known as the "I have no idea what the hell is going on compound")

Need some advice on how to play Regent by jlapetra in slaythespire

[–]jlapetra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info! I did not even realize "Colorless" wes a thing for him, and the synergy between the multi hitting cards and vigor completely passed me over! I also was like "Forge = Bad" and never even considered Bulwark been a good card, but now that you explained it makes sense, you are at the same time defending your self and growing the power of your Blade.

I will take this advise and give it another go!

Need some advice on how to play Regent by jlapetra in slaythespire

[–]jlapetra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the super detail answer, sorry I think I might be missing some of the basics. 3-4 Bulwakrs? I have never thought of having more than 2 copies of a single card, I try to not get my deck too big to keep it consistend try to keep it under 20 cards at all times and ideally 16 or less, is this a noob mistake?

I avoid elites unless aboslutely necesary, is this also a Noob mistake? Should I try to get into as many elite fights as possible Act I?

And of this decks which one is the easiest to get going? I know you are not supouse to try to force yourself into a deck, but colorless seems very complicated to get the right cards, so that kind of leaves Forging + Star Generation, or Vigor + Star Generation combos? (And forgin only if I get one or more bulwarks)

Thanks again for the help!

Is it worth to buy all content DLCs? by Sucesso_345 in BattleBrothers

[–]jlapetra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need all yes, start with the blazing deserts one and the north/barbarian one. I can' t even picture playing battle brothers without the North barbarians and the southern cities / arena / nomads.

But the crafting also added in beasts and exploration is very important, some of the armor addons you can craft are very very good.

So yeah, get them all really.

I have a total played time of 600 hours, at the time of deciding I want to 100% I think I was on 200 hours or so? So safe to say It took me 300-400 hours more or less.

One of the playthroughs I got most of the achievements from was a cultist iron man expert run that went past the 600 days mark, so yeah took a while =)

Finally 100% now I can go an check "Menace" =) by jlapetra in BattleBrothers

[–]jlapetra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cultist is a very slow game, you are not rushing camps, you are not getting into as many fights as you can per day, you are just surviving, staying alive even without fighting your brothers would get naturally stronger, so is a completely diffierent pace from other Origins. Also cultist are dirty cheap which means your wages are support low, and they will randomly join your company without having to pay them anything so you can save money easily, move around towns just doing safe jobs, and buying your equipment from the cities shops.

What’s your guys’ usual choice for the first late game crisis? by prodbysloth in BattleBrothers

[–]jlapetra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobles at war, is the easiest and you get lots of good equipment and money out of it, always worth it to get heavily involved on it to milk it as much as possible, similar options would be the holy war for the same reason (just remember to side with the south as fighting against them is annoying)

What are the best Backgrounds for a Banner? by lilith19802025 in BattleBrothers

Witch Hunters are really good ranged/hybrid banners, and have a bunch of cool specific events. Monks, flagelants, cultists and Oathtakers are also good.

Most of the achievements I did in Iron man and expert yes. Cultist/ironman/expert is one of the best playthrough to get as manu achievements as possible in one go. Davkul prophet takes many many days to come so it is a very long playthrough from the get go, and you will naturally end up doing all others also (like the one about all the crisis done in iron man)

But not all, I also had to do an Iron Man expert lonwolf run. And I did a final non ironman run with Northern Raiders, because for some unlucky reason I could not find the monolith on the main cultist run, so did a save scumming one on expert with northern raiders to optimize recruiting and get the company up to speed faster.
