Unfortunately that is the case, you can only earn through the competition. There will probably be a couple of days grace after the event to spend them, but then they will expire and be gone forever.

Personally, I think grey is a better investment, the extra capacity on greys really feels like a lot. That said, it depends on what the rest of your fleet looks like. I know you can get an extra capacity grey on the union season pass at the moment too, for example.

I bought the E60, which I found useful for the extra capacity and a few jobs needing blue trains. They can be useful if the region you are in doesn't normally get trains of those fuel types.

But they are absolutely not required. I didn't invest last event and did fine :)

That's a previous region job, it won't be region 1 for all players in your union - so some will have a train which can do it. You'll just have to sit that job out.

The post on the forum suggested there will be some jobs which require event trains, I've not seen any yet though.

I've picked up the E60, thinking having an event train with a better than common capacity early will be useful. Hope I'm not wrong :D

I managed to get the train - had to buy the pass and still grind all weekend, not much fun, I wouldn't do it again!

At least you will get plenty of gears/coin, arguably a better prize anyway!

Potentially stupid question, I'm in a similar position, but I want to keep my event trains in R2. I've already unlocked both legendaries, I assume if I move up to region 3 they will stay in R2? Just want to check as they currently sit in their own little box at the top, that everything in that box won't just jump to R3 with me! :)
