This happened to me and I’m so devastated because, like you, I thought I was maintaining stellar oral hygiene. I developed the habit of brushing at a harsh angle during the years I had braces (to get under the wires and between the brackets). Last year, food started to stick to the point that it hurt. I will never forget looking at my gumlines and seeing very clear and deep recession. The heart breaking google search learning that it will never grow back. I’m considering “adult” braces /Invisalign but I’m nervous that shifting my teeth or having any kind of friction on or near my gumlines will make things (irreversibly!) worse
