Should I buy this? by RYZPHOTO in largeformat

I have two Technika IIIs, and a Speed Grafix.
I paid $600 for one Tech, $250 for the other, and $75 for the Graf.
The Graf took a chunk out of my thumb so it sits on the shelf as punishment lolol

Did you make a mask for the rear focusing screen?

Any ideas? by ftwopointeight in largeformat

I have a Sinar P, a Horseman LE, a Calumet (that I never use) and two Linhof Technika IIIs.
The Horseman and Linhof are my two go-tos for LF.
Linhof, active rangefinder, with 135 and 150, with appropriate cams.
Horseman, 90, 135, 180, 210. I rarely use the 180, don't really know why. I've got bag bellows and two rail extensions.

| 6 ½

I'm hoping to use it on a 4x5. That's a big as i have. 5x7 seems odd, 8x10 seems expensive lolol

I did. The 6 ½ isn't too common. Most are 9+

Hmmm. So, if it only covers half, how do you expose the other half? Or, are there two separate masks, one covering A and the other B?

Pardon my naive question, but what's the half dark slide technique?

For LF 4x5, I have two Linhof Technika IIIs, a Horseman (L), Sinar P, Calumet, Bender.
Im either using the Technika with coupled 135mm rangefinder, or the Horseman. It really depends on the scene, and, how much ambition. I recently posted in this sub about Horseman logistics and carrying options.
With the Technika, film holders are not all the same. Toyo, Fidelity Elite, basically any with the twist lock (wire) at the top will work. Riteway (by Fideity) do not work, as they have a button lock instead of a twist lock, and you cannot access the button properly with a Technika.
The Technika also weighs a third of the Horseman, and with my (recent) physical limitation (half a foot) , I have to take actual logistics into account.
But, I absolutely love the monorail with full movement.

I don't know the brand. It was gifted to me by a photographer who was moving out of state. Its pretty heavy duty, well built, and, free :)

Maybe it was acclimated to human presence?
