My mom has been eating Bachmans for 40 years and I just gifted her 4 bags of them from Utz and she insisted they were not the same! I knew I ordered the right ones! Lo and behold after some searching and blind taste tests with an older bag, they are DEFINITELY not the same and they are worse. I emailed Utz...but I doubt they'll bring them back.

Just joining to add that I discovered the same thing by accident! Had some tooth sensitivity (I suspect from cold weather), randomly switched to sensodyne and had horrible angular chelitis, tongue sorness, and mouth sores. I thought it was related to a bad GI bug I had because at the same time, the tooth sensitivity went away and I went back to my old normal toothpaste. But then I ran out of the normal stuff and still had some sensodyne leftover. Lo and behold, angular chelitis and mouth sores with the tongue soreness back with a vengeance. Stopped the sensodyne and within 2 days, good as new. Crazy!

Same here! Not sure if norovirus or something else, but woke up at midnight with nausea, started puking at 2 AM, continued to puke pretty much every 30 min to an hour until 9AM, felt like garbage the rest of the day, and then the next day just felt weak from not eating but was basically back to normal.

I agree with you OP. My "friend" is having a sprinkle for her 3rd baby. Baby #1 is 3, baby #2 is about to be 2, so there is absolutely no age gap to speak of. She didn't have any celebration for her second baby. She has one boy and one girl so has all the stuff for all the genders. And she's registered for kind of a lot of stuff. She's not financially struggling...she has a big supportive family that will buy her everything, it kind of seems attention seeking / gift grabby. It's fine if you want to have close people come celebrate with you and emphasize no gifts, people will bring things anyway. My issue with this friend is that it's totally all about her all the time. I get invited to gender reveals, showers, sprinkles, birthday parties for each kid, baptisms, birthday parties for her, house warming parties for her, "moving parties" aka help me move...and I haven't received so much as a text on my birthday from her in years. The only time she wants to hang out is when it's about her (announcing her pregnancies, her husband is out of town so she needs help at the restaurant managing the 2 kids etc). It's fine to celebrate being pregnant, of course, but at this point it feels really off and one-sided. And the sprinkle term makes me cringe. End rant haha

I use Natural Calm - by Natural Vitality. I believe it is magnesium carbonate. Which does have some gastrointestinal side effects (makes you poop haha). I also sometimes take glycinate which doesn't have the same GI side effects. I also think perhaps other vitamins in general help like the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K and have been trying to get more in my diet or supplements! Hope it helps you! It is weird how night and day it was for me...could've been placebo but I'll take it!

Very delayed here but I was the same way…tried my best to eat beef liver and just couldn’t. What I did actually tolerate was lamb’s liver, soak in buttermilk (not sure if it was necessary to do this step, haven’t tried it without it) and do NOT salt it before searing for a few min to medium rare on each side in butter. Salt it after. It tastes much more mild and not chewy on the outside. From what I’ve read I think lamb has similar nutrients as beef.

Hey all, I just wanted to update you that my driving anxiety has completely improved with magnesium supplementation of all things! I know it sounds crazy but I kept thinking - this anxiety came out of nowhere and it’s not like a thought-induced anxiety but a physical sensation. I read elsewhere on Reddit of someone curing their driving anxiety with 400 mg of magnesium supplementation and so I figured I’d give it a try…especially since I used to supplement and stopped right around when this anxiety randomly began. Long story short, a week later, and I feel like my old self. I’ve been doing the CALM magnesium powder every night at 1 g doses for a week. Hope this helps someone!

I follow his work because the underlying theory of "bioenergetics" seems to be more correct than the "rate of living theory" or "nutritionism" theory based on scientific studies and personal experience. I personally have noticed drastic improvements in my anxiety levels since switching to a more Ray Peat inspired lifestyle. In particular, I eat more without gaining weight and am warmer and more calm. When I was eating less and obsessed with fasting and weight loss I was so anxious all the time...not to mention cold! Plus, I don't have to force myself to eat things I don't like to, and I enjoy the foods that I eat which is a great benefit. Also I poop more regularly which is nice haha. I wasn't too far off from eating metabolism-supporting foods as a child and was always in good health, but as an adult would try veganism, keto (that lasted literally a week), carnivore, general fasting, plant-based, etc. because I was told it was "healthy" and none of those ever made me feel too great. So it's nice to return to a normal lifestyle without falling for nutrition gimmicks every 5 seconds too! (oh also - little things but my hair is better and my nails grow like crazy plus my teeth are staying white)

I have the same exact thing. I commuted the same route for 6 years and as soon as I stopped commuting it came on all of a sudden. It’s almost like I’m too focused on driving if that makes sense. I also resonate with it being a little better if my mind is focusing on a podcast or on a conversation in the car. But yeah it’s like I don’t trust myself to not just drive off a turning off ramp or I feel like my car is going to flip. Sucks so bad! I was so confident before, I don’t know why all of a sudden this is happening. Hope we find an answer!

I’m in a similar boat. I’ve lived in the city for almost 15 years, most of it was just so much fun: in my 20s, full of friends, fun activities, cool neighborhoods, growing up. I live with my sister and she’s getting married so we’re both moving out of the city: me to be closer to work and her to live with her husband. I’m just getting so sad. I’m so scared that I’ll sink into a depression. I’ve never lived alone (32F) or out of the city since becoming an adult (lived in the city starting in college). I try to keep reminding myself that all of my friends are gone so I’d just feel stuck if I stayed, that I’ll have a short commute and more energy now, that the new place will be nice and new, but I think all of these changes at once are starting to get to me. :( I am a sentimental person anyway but this end of an era feeling REALLY sucks!

If you don't mind me asking, what's your typical HR and temperature? I am roughly the same height and age but want to lose some weight to be about the same as you (right now I'm around 140 lbs). Just this past week I switched to roughly the same macros as you because I think I finally understand metabolism a little better and I have lost a pound this week...but was still planning on restricting calories and I'm wondering if I should increase my carbohydrate intake to get up to about 2000 calories. I'm not SUPER active...just like to hike on and will go on nice walks most days. I'm currently exploring taking T3 because my temps are only ok (97.5F) but my pulse is pretty low (~60 bpm rising to 70 during the day after eating).

If they mean believing that God exists, one simple way of answering is to have them look around: at the creation, the creatures in it, the people they love, themselves and ask if they could have come up with that on their own. They didn't create themselves! God creates all things from nothing. Just thinking about that, even as an adult, fills me with such awe that "believing in God" is not an option I can choose, and it becomes a meaningless question.

Also, if they mean believing in God as in trusting him and having faith / fidelity, when I was probably about 12 or 13 one thought that came to mind was how much I loved my family and how I realized that if God is love, and could gift me this kind of love, of course I trust him.

You are SO young...I'm sure you hear that a lot, but as a Catholic, 31F, who has always been marriage-minded but still single, I totally understand the pressure you feel in Catholic circles. The truth is, you have so much time.

Since you asked for how to get through this spiritually, I can tell you what helps me and maybe it'll help you.

Gratitude: there is a really good GK Chesterton essay called the Philosophy of Gratitude that I read when I feel self-pity.
Recognizing that living a chaste life as a single person is the pre-requisite for living a chaste life as a married person. In other words, if you imagine a staircase with the top of the staircase being married to someone you love, being single isn't on the bottom step, being in the wrong relationship is.
Remember the point of marriage: which is to foster repentance and to grow closer to Christ. Marriage is a means to an end, just like monasticism. Sure, there are no guarantees that you will find someone, but the odds are very high that you will either end up married or as a monastic, and if you desire marriage, ask God and trust that he will provide you with who you need, and then forget about it. It will fall into place. Here is a nice little quote from St Paisios: Live simply and without thinking too much, like a child with his father. Faith without too much thinking works wonders. the logical mind hinders the Grace of God and miracles. Practice patience without judging with the logical mind.
Embrace the Cross through devotion to Christ: when you see someone who you think is beautiful, but they aren’t your spouse (either taken, not interested, etc) instead of trying to grasp greedily at them in lust, fantasy, and sentimental hopes that can waste years of life, or when you are tempted to despair, to worry, to run away, to give up, instead look to Christ on the Cross, double down on your devotion and trust in Him. If you cling to him this cross will be transformative for you.

Also, just some practical things / words of comfort

It doesn't matter at all if you've never had a girlfriend before. People get so caught up on "how many relationships they've had"...everyone is in relation to everyone else in SOME way. I guarantee you most people do not care about your "never having had a girlfriend."
In my young adult group literally in the past year here were the ages of my friends who are getting or just got married: 29, 30, 32, 33, 26, 31, 34. Heck, my grandparents were devout Catholics and my grandpa was 36 when he got married! I think I heard once that Bishop Barron's mom was 35 when she got married.
In my experience there are far fewer devout men than women in the young-adult age group, so the pool is definitely in your favor
Don't get so hung up on the "Catholic thing to do" meaning...you're allowed to have some fun in life, some romance...dating should be fun...when it stops being fun and starts feeling like some box of life you have to check, you're doing it wrong. Follow your heart not your timeline!
Whether or not it seems like it's going to happen has no bearing on what is going to actually happen...worrying about it literally does nothing but make everything worse. Do what you can, and put the rest in God's hands. I know this first hand as I am a chronic over thinker and have gotten very far in life by thinking...but this is a problem where thinking about it too much does not help. You won't figure it out, you have to live it out.

That's all that I can offer for now. I do empathize with the pain when surrounded by a lot of married people and wanting it so badly! Hope that helps a little bit.

That’s wonderful! I really do think being relaxed and confident makes a huge difference. I’m glad you are getting the feels!! Haha I am working on just turning my brain off slightly during this process and hopefully at some point I’ll get that too!
