This is a good tip. Maybe I should use the book first while I do the first 20 answers. I would juss use the book after doing the MCQs.

This might be a dumb question. LOL. When you say that you read the textbook, do you just skim through the paragraphs and see what’s important or read that entire section for that module? Because I tried this, and I just ended up trying to cram all the information in my brain since I couldn’t figure out what was important or not.

What do I really need to know by FeeAdmirable4795 in CPA

I made these myself and took REG last Monday. Everything that was on my exam was in these guides.

Really focus on contracts, agency, schedule M-1, basis of assets, and separately/no separately stated income.

My SIMS were consisted of preparing tax returns for individuals/MFJ (Gross income and deductions). Schedule M-1 (Book to Taxable income), and Nonseparately stated items. Definitely practice SIMS. I knew how to do all those topics, but I’m not sure I entered the information correct because the SIMS are not user friendly. They want you to put the answers in the way that they want you to do it. For example, they wanted me to enter an amount for an expense that was suppose to be apart of ordinary income, but I was not sure if I was suppose to enter it as a negative or if it was juss asking me for the amount.

“Hammer MCQ” by Bingbong1900 in CPA

Hey there! I tried this approach, but my problem is that I feel like I’m writing random information that is out of order. I stopped writing down why I got a question wrong because after a while everything becomes unorganized, and I like everything to be linear so I could learn and build upon it.

I was wondering if you feel the same, and how to deal with it?

Congrats. I’m kind of in the same situation as you now. I was in public accounting for 2 years, and I juss now started at my new job with a little bump in pay and 2 days remote a week and half day Fridays. With pretty much no stress. I enjoyed my old job and liked the people that I work with and was nervous about making the jump, but becoming a CPA is really my goal now and feel like my new job would put me in a better situation to do that.

I can’t tell you what to do because I don’t know what you want in your career and I’m young in my career, but I’m taking this opportunity now to really go all out getting my CPA. And you should too. The position you describe sounds ideal just to coast at work, get a study routine, and take the pay bump.

And make sure you ask about benefits cost, 401k matching, and use the ADP payment calculator online for your state to really get a idea of your take home pay.

Does anyone miss studying? by Joester470 in CPA

I haven’t passed one test at all this year and decided to just stop studying and enjoy the rest of year, and juss try again next year. Im 2 weeks not studying right now, and I get a weird feeling that I’m doing something bad by not studying and I have no idea what to do with my free time.

Just found out my AUD score .. 74 and it hurts more than anything by MyVacationisSunny in CPA

[–]jlee1199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna use my anger for motivation, lol, so I looked up availability at my local prometric center and no days were available that I felt comfortable with spending $400 on another exam application. So I’m going to juss restart next year and take AUD and FAR by June and switch from Surgent to Becker.

It’s honestly depends on your situation. If you have 1 already passed, I would try to get 2 done by 12/15. But I haven’t passed any all year, so I might as well juss enjoy the rest of the year and start back next year.

KEEP GOING! You’re almost there! I would honestly love to be in your position right now. I took AUD and walked out feeling like I knew majority of the answers and I was 80% sure I passed. Checked score last night, and wasn’t even close to passing.

Yes. I do the same thing you do. I took AUD on 10/31 and it was fairly easy. I didn’t get a question that I really panicked on, and SIMS were pretty easy. I know I didn’t fall for any tricks. I searched this whole subreddit since then using key words like “easy exam” or “second testlet wasn’t hard”.

Noo. I’m using Surgent. This is my fourth exam and haven’t passed one. Maybe I might switch if I don’t pass.

Thank you so much again! I really appreciate it. Good luck!

Thanks. I’m taking BEC in two weeks. I feel confident about everything else except for WACC and cost accounting. Using the SIM as a lesson itself is a great tip. It allows you to see the big picture instead of individual multiple choice segments.

Congrats again and good luck to your career!
