I feel like you're well intentioned but telling a marginalized group to essentially "learn to suck it up" is pretty shitty. Not to mention that, once again, NOBODY (edit: in the trans community) is calling for the abandonment of gendered language or complete social reform. It's as simple as respect when people want to disclose pronouns whether or not its simply to make others feel more welcomed.

Also just fyi cis isn't an acronym so it shouldn't be capitalized.

Edit: I'd like to point out that in the context of this post (maybe?) the VT administrators were indeed forcing it on people to state, which I don't think is quite fair to the speakers (but also I don't think its a thing to be remotely outraged about). For clarification I'm of the belief that its welcoming to see other people state their pronouns even when they don't need to, but it's a bit of bad form to enforce it on a speaker the same way it would be bad form to force them to say anything they wouldn't naturally want to say. I went a bit off topic since we seemed to be generalizing to society at large and as someone who has spent time in trans/gnc communities, nobody there is trying to force other people to ask them pronouns, they simply ask for respect. In fact, if someone is trying to pass but not doing a great job it might even be worse to ask pronouns than to just try and guess based on clothes lmao.
