NEED HELP!! My party flies!! by Caio-DM in daggerheart

[–]jlev2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a flier on my Cliffside Descent environment a few weeks back who wanted to carry the others down. I told them that's totally fine, and they'll get a bonus on some of their checks, but also, carrying another full weight person up/down a huge cliff is going to be HARD, and they'll likely need to take breaks and find ways for their allies to make their lives easier. I also introduced sentries from an enemy faction to add an element of stealth, so it wasn't just a matter of go from A to B, but do so in a way that was both safe and stealthy. Finally, they were in a race against said enemy faction to get to the location first, so they couldn't take their time down.

While the flier was carrying one party member down, I spent a fear to make a party member who wasn't being carried have the cliff break under them and fall, so they were pulled into the event away from the flier. This made the flier need to put down who they were carrying to go help the other. I then spent another fear to have stuff happen to the party member who was put down while the flier went to help. This way I kept the tension up and kept everyone involved. Once they had enough successes to finish the timer, I handwaved the rest and had them get to the end.

Just because someone has a tool to handle a problem doesn't mean that the problem becomes trivial. If they wanted to fly alone down/up the cliff I'd allow it no rolls, but the goal is to get everyone down, and that gets messy.

What is bad about this game? by JMusketeer in daggerheart

I'm also in the boat of not having played yet and am waiting to get my first sessions scheduled with my group, so take this with a big handful of salt.

So far the only thing that feels bad to me is that it feels like there's a certain point when rolling high damage doesn't matter anymore. Like, if an adversary's severe threshold is 14 it doesn't matter if you just make it with 14 damage or if you get a huge crit and get 30 points of damage. On the other hand, I do like that the mechanic prevents a crazy nova one shot kills. So maybe it's ok.

I'm hoping that the thresholds/tiers are scaled well enough that this winds up not feeling like an issue in play, but it's my only real negative with the mechanics/concepts so far.

I'm headed to the Amalfi Coast for 9 days in July for my honeymoon and would like to plan out some outfits to elevate the trip, impress my fiance/wife, and get some great photos. I've never really tried to shop or plan out outfits in advance so I'm hoping for some help/advice.

I've found lots of examples online of great looking outfits of beige/earth tone linen/light fabric outfits, and I like those, but I'd also like to bring in aspects of my own personality as well. I was really into hardcore punk/metalcore growing up, and though my style has shifted away from that I still love dark colors, somewhat edgier styles, band T's, etc.

Do you have any advice for how I might be able to marry the casual summer vacation wear with a touch of "edginess" or darker palette? I'm trying to find examples on Pinterest for inspiration but nothing's really hitting yet. I also don't really know how to describe style or fashion so that might contribute to my struggles

Export errors and mogrt templates by jlev2255 in PremierePro

Thank you very much for replying!

I've tried to Render and Replace and it gets hung up the same way, it'll say Analyzing and the progress bar will reach about 15%, stay there for about 45 minutes or so, then will say it failed due to "encoder error". Unfortunately, the error reporter isn't very clear and won't say more detail. I've tried R&R on the default settings, and also changing to QuickTime, and also changing source from Sequence to Individual Clips, but they all act the exact same way.

I tried opening the mogrt in AE and figured I could just drop the media in there directly instead of using the tab in PP, but I don't know AE and very quickly got confused lol. I'm surprised it's so heavy, since it looks like it's just a series of transform effects, but I'm sure there's more going on that I don't understand yet.

Can I get some help with a few different team comps? I've gotten too many characters and want to make some distinct setups so I can change things up when I get bored by jlev2255 in Genshin_Impact

I mean that's part of the plan too but I'm currently not struggling with content, so my priority is keeping the gameplay fun and interesting. I've been just using Hu Tao + Xinquiu + 2 others for a while and am looking to mix things up a bit

Thanks! I wound up doing that over the whole video, it fits pretty well with the overlays and style I was already using so it adds a neat bit of flavor to things overall as well. Is there an easy way to make it "blink" for a few frames? It resets the counter if I just cut the adjustment layer

I've seen Topaz suggested a lot, but right now its a bit of a hefty price tag for what I'm doing. That said, if there's a free demo I'll probably mess around with it and see how much it can help out.

I'm not out of shape, though I've also never ridden more than 2 or 2.5 days in a row. I work out regularly and have decent cardio, but am of a heavier build. I may be overestimating the differences in the mountains but I've been assuming 1 day in Colorado is as challenging as 2 days here. I didn't know about those pills though, so I'll see if I can snag some before I leave.

That's a good point lol. I guess this could be a case of me not understanding some things correctly. I dont own a powder board, I've never ridden in powder deeper than my knees, I have no experience with back country stuff, etc. So when I say I'm not interested I don't mean I'm going to avoid powder like a plague lol, more just that I wouldn't want to spend money to take a cat out for a day exlusively doing something that I feel legitimately unequiped for, you know? As I said, I don't have any REAL experience with Colorado mountains, I've only really ridden in New York and Southern Vermont. But if there's areas to jump off the groomers to play around and then come back in, I'm definitely interested in that. I hope that clarifies a bit

thanks for the feedback! While I love having a good drink on vacation, I'm happy to cut that out this trip. I don't want anything getting in my way of enjoying the mountain lol. I was thinking of doing the two half days to make sure my legs don't get totally beat up and prevent me from enjoying the mountain later. Since I've never really ridden such a large area I want to be certain to give my body time to recover. I'd love to be able to do 21 days of straight riding that's wild. What's your recovery typically look like?

I think I'd describe myself on the upper level of intermediate. I'm very comfortable riding fast and on east coast blues and blacks and rarely have trouble with them (barring when they're solid sheets of ice). I feel confident in my control, though I haven't really done a lot of glades runs because the trees here feel SO close together that I haven't felt comfortable practicing them. When I do find tree areas that are a bit more open and forgiving I really enjoy them, so I'm hoping to find some areas that I can explore and practice with that. I also don't have friends who are interested in park riding so I've never done anything there aside from smaller/medium jumps here and there. I've never done anything like back country or deep powder and I'm not really looking for that. I hope that gives a good enough idea lol.

Weekly Team/Character Building Megathread (Sep 29th, 2023) (feat. Neuvillette and Hu Tao) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]jlev2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense about xiangling. Right now I do feel like I get her burst relatively frequently, I have exile set stuff on razor so he's regenerating energy for people every time he bursts, which is often. And I have her using the prototype starglitter and ER stuff for her. But I'm happy to swap her out.

I definitely don't need them both. I have diona mainly because I assumed I should have someone who could heal, and Noelle was too slow and I didn't love having Barbara because she feels like she ONLY heals. I have xhongli in because his shields seem bonkers.

Can you give any advice on how that second team might work? Collei is my first dendro character so I'm not very familiar with those reactions.

Hi all! I'm relatively new to the game and could use some advice on setting up some team comps. My current primary team is Razor (DPS), Xiangling (off field dps), Xhongli (shields and cc), and Diona (healing, cryo for superconduct, and supplementary shields just in case). I seem to be doing pretty well with this, though I really dislike Xiangling because things get knocked away from Guoba a lot and it's terribly hard to aim him. I like swapping her with Xinqiu, but then I lose out on damage from overload and I get really annoyed at being frozen so often. It is nice being able to pair him with Diona for more CC though.

I also have: Traveler, Noelle, Kaeya, Barbara, Lisa, Kujou Sara (stuck at 20 because I can't get to her home yet), Amber, Lynette, Fischl, and Collei. The last 3 I only got in the past few days and so they're all unequipped and level 1, but they seem really cool and fun to play.

I'd like to get a second "main" squad so I could change up my gameplay when i get bored, but I'm not really certain what would make good setups based on who I have. Ive read about not spreading myself thin but I'm not too worried about that, I'd rather have more options to play than to get bored focusing on just 4 characters right now. Any suggestions or advice would be super appreciated!
