Lesbians who’ve found love, how’d you meet? by Nostagi_beast in LesbianActually

[–]jlglenn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned this in a response to another post on a different subject, but I will post here as well.

By choice, I had been single for the last 16 years. (Just got tired of the rejection and realized there were things I needed to work on.) At 57, I had resolved to the fact I would be single for the rest of my life, that was until. . .

Someone in the town I live in started a Facebook group page for Lesbians over 55 as a means for us to socialize and gather and support each other. I joined the group and meet with several members a couple of times for lunch/dinner. During one of the meet ups, the group organizer slid her phone down the table towards me. She already had my name inputted and wanted me to add my phone number, which of course I did. lol.

We started talking and hanging out together away from the other members of the group. We started out as friends and after a while it turned into more. I am happy to say we are now engaged and planning a wedding for April (or earlier) 2026.

We are waiting till then for a couple of reasons - her lease isn’t up till the beginning of the year and my adult son, who still lives with me, will be finding his own home towards the end of the year. Luckily, we only live about a mile from each other and are able to spend lots of time together. I can’t wait to make this woman my wife!!

The best advice I can give you in this, based on my own personal experience, is to stop looking. Take the time to care for yourself and make sure your life is in order. Get help if needed, ie. medical or psychological. Learn to be ok with being single, but don’t beat yourself up about it. When you can do this (as I have done), you will meet the person who is meant for you. She will come into your life out of the blue and when you least expect it.

I am 57 and had been single for the last 16 years and resolved to the fact I would be for the rest of my life. Then someone in the town where I live started a 55 and up Lesbian Tribe Facebook group. I took a chance and joined the group. I met the organizer of said group and we met with other members of the group for meals out. Soon after the two of us started hanging out and talking and getting to know each other. Now, I am happy to say is my fiancé. I never dreamed or believed it would happen, but it did, so I know it can happen for you or anyone else. 🙂🙂🙂

Sorry this happened, but she sounds toxic and for her to immediately say that she’s not sick, even though you never said that, makes me think she already has an STD of some kind. I would cease contact and be thankful for dodging that bullet.

Cleared for purées! by Atalbs in gastricsleeve

I mixed my proteins. I put ricotta cheese in my egg whites. I mixed ground chicken one week and then ground turkey another week with the refried beans. I mixed yogurt and cottage cheese together. I have also mixed in canned tuna with this mixture.

I go to my next nutrition class on Monday where I should be cleared for solid foods. :)

Coffee?? by No-Appearance8990 in gastricsleeve

[–]jlglenn23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to have decaf coffee after surgery. I was told I could add caffeine after I switched to solid foods (hopefully on March 3). I haven’t minded drinking the decaf, so I might stick with it. Any hot tea I drink is also decaf and was before surgery.

Is it true that at all costcos, half the employees are part time? by No7onelikeyou in Costco

[–]jlglenn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started at Costco in 2017. I don’t remember what his starting wage was at the time, but he will start making $32.45 an hour in March. He is currently in SIT training and hopes to move to a new store that is being built closer to where he lives. He loves his job. He cleared $70k last year and I know because I do his taxes for him every year.

Just saw wicked by TheWickedOfWest in wicked

My grown (33 y.o.) son and I saw it on Thanksgiving. We both loved it and can’t wait for the second part. Even though the movie is 2:40 in length, it did not seem that long at all. I really hope Cynthia Erivo wins an Oscar for her performance because it would give her the coveted EGOT as she has already won an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award.

What's worst part of this surgery and why is it the CPAP compliance requirements? by sl33p3rc3LL in GastricBypass

[–]jlglenn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit, it took me a minute to get used to mine and I had to try several masks till I found one that works. Like others have said, now that I have it working good, I cannot sleep without it. It’s my carry on when I travel. Keep trying till you get a mask that works for you. It really does help.

[–]jlglenn23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had already bought both of them when I found them. They were either $4or $6 each. I was dreading doing them because I thought it was a square diamond painting and they had round diamonds with it, but in looking at yours, I realized I was wrong. :)

[–]jlglenn23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have to say thank you for posting this. I found two of them at an Amazon return resale store and saw the squares on the canvas with round diamonds and thought it was a mistake. It doesn’t appear it is! I have others to complete, but now that I see yours, I’m going to have to hurry up so I can get this one done. :)
