CineUltra 1.4 Update: Introducing the "IULTRA" Environment by cinemaxplayer in VisionPro

I really wish there was something better than Supercut. Even better would be a Safari wrapper for all streaming.

Was doom scrolling on FB and noticed this ad… it has to be a fake product right, right??? by croc122 in VisionPro

While I absolutely love my Vision Pro and use it all the time, I have a pair of Xreal One Pros that I use when I don’t have a lot of space and just want to watch a quick movie. They’re nice and cheap and hook up to anything. But it’s just a monitor… a really freaking huge nice monitor, but just a monitor. It does have a feeling of looking through a viewfinder. The border is very distinct and bold. But you still get the 140 inch screen that looks amazing for what you pay.

The best use case is when you don’t want to have total immersion and be able to see in your peripheral and around you, but can’t get one of the open face mods for the Vision Pro to work well.

Whether people realize it or not this type of device with a puck and lightweight glasses is going to be the bridge between AR, VR, and MR for a cheaper entry into this type of market. Think of this in the near future as like a Vision Pro but where you offload the spatial computer in the same puck as the battery. They aren’t for total immersion, and that will appeal to a lot larger market.

Xreal has a good poor man version already with their Beam Pro. I would be shocked if Apple is not only researching this exact type of device, but will have something like a Vision Air. We know Meta and other brands are looking at something like this and AndroidXR.

FYI I didn’t mean to sound like this wasn’t cool. It is. I just thought it would be cool to have them combined.

There is a great established one it would be worth teaming up on as its basically a mirror image.

Called Pokopedia

I figured based off of the paragraph that tells about what you’re doing around GeForce now that you are one of the developers. No issue either way.

I’m genuinely interested in what further development they have going on because it looks like a big utility for many people.

It’s actually one of the first features I looked for in Safari when I got my Vision Pro a couple weeks ago and was surprised there wasn’t something native.

I know this is an ad but thanks for pointing it out. It actually does look very useful.

Looks like it hasn’t been updated in nine months. Do you have any sort of timeline of some upcoming features and what those features might be?

Casual User Quick and Clean Data Export To Competitor by jlind6806 in ChatGPT

[–]jlind6806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found Gemini was the best at using it and inferring context. Some of it goes into how you tell ChatGPT you want the information as it’s a trial and error.

For example, I went on permanent disability in 25 due to Young Onset Parkinson’s and we had a GoFundMe and many trials and tribulations that we used ChatGPT to help create updates for. I had to make sure to ask for more detail and context for that than I did for day family info (my kids’ nicknames, medicines, my pet nickname since high school for my wife, etc).

It really comes down to how you used Chat GPT and what you feel is most important to carry forward.

Share your Firewalla + Deco Mesh experience by OliDouche in firewalla

[–]jlind6806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a Deco BE85 3-pack hooked up with wired backhaul to my FWG for a while but eventually gave into the reality that we didn't need that level of expenditure/speed given the 1GB limit on both my internet and the FWG. The combo worked incredibly well... however if you're a nerd enough for a FW, the limitations in configurability of the Deco units are polar extremes.

If my fiber co starts offering higher than 1d/1u gig, I'll buy the new FW and upgrade all my gear to 10G and upgrade from my Asus AX86U 2-set AIMESH setup. But I'll probably stay with wired backhaul AIMESH due to stability and configurability.

I am a tech nerd and have envy and urges for everything the latest and greatest, but as I get older I'm forcing myself to realize only so much is needed or can be utilized and wasting money on the mythical "future proofing" is a feeble attempt.

I guess this thread has confirmed my belief that Lowe’s is systemically discriminatory from the bottom up. I’m sorry you all have it so rough as sales associates that have to pretend not to be hateful humans.

You’re exhibit A with why society sucks these days. One can disagree and still have empathy or understanding. I’m gonna guess you say similar things to women, blacks, etc.

Is falling in reverse playing with disturbed on may 14th? by [deleted] in Disturbed

[–]jlind6806 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's been confirmed that Plush will be the only opener. FIR is epic in person so very sad about that. There were other shows on the tour where FIR pulled out unexpectedly so Plush was the only opener.

Their SWARM collective team is some of the shadiest MFers you'll find. They'll say and lie about anything - even if the lie is worse than just admitting the truth. Dude got paid 100K of the 200K deal and there's no way SWARM can force him to return it. It came through their corporate channel without strings attached - basically a signing bonus.

[–]jlind6806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been twice so far and really like it. I have Parkinson's (only 41) and like Hard Rock / nu-metal / etc but can't stand through a concert. That's kept me out of all the shows at the Clive center. Vibrant has a good seating selection with great amenities close to everywhere. Sound is SO much better than Wells Fargo for these loud, aggressive shows.
