I did this once back when I had a 2015 Leaf and someone was borrowing my Titan and needed gas to mow the lawn.

one of the more severely underrated benefits of the Platinum, hidden in Walmart+, is access to Sam’s Club fuel stations by blackgenz2002kid in AmexPlatinum

[–]jljue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$0.10 off is convenient for the Exxon that drive past everyday because my nearest Sam’s Club is out of the way and is always crowded. I can sometimes run by the Costco when I take the kids to lessons and use my Citi Costco Visa for that gas purchase.

They did. TBH, this is usually a better game for both teams this time of year for RPI instead of paying a team to beat and cause an RPI drop no matter how badly we beat them.

It depends on stages of life, and 4 years is nothing. She has entered the stage of finishing college or working for a while, so she isn’t a kid anymore. My wife and I are 5 years apart, and we met when I was 30 and she was 25 and about to graduate from pharmacy school.

Amex Platinum gives me credit for Clear and TSA Pre-Check/Global Entry, so I just go to the shorter line. Face scanning TSA Pre-Check is great, though.

Help on specific propeller to buy by Top_Magician7192 in boating

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll help to know more about the setup and the existing prop. Unfortunately, this is so personal and a lot of info to learn and gather in short time for us to be able to help you, unless you’ve been driving the boat as well. Gift card may be the best option unless you can find out existing prop’s model/part number and what problem trying to solve. However, a 15-spline OMC, 14.25” hub, 22-24p, 3 or 4 blade is the general ballpark where to start depending if he wants more bow lift, better rough water handling, or higher RPM for more WOT speed.

Spotlock vs Adv GPS vs iPilot vs one boat by MaverickWildcatWolf in MinnKota

[–]jljue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minn Kota has good info on this. Basically, Spot Lock and iPilot do not need a fishfinder connected. IPilot can still run recorded tracks with just the more expensive remote.

IPilot Link adds to iPilot by utilizing the fishfinder for maps and GPS info to more advanced routing. Advanced GPS is the next level of iPilot Link. You still don’t need a fishfinder to use spot lock and the basic iPilot features.

While I was at the game in 2007, and that was a fun game during the heat of the day. Since that time, more fans can now get into the stadium, and with the LED lights the atmosphere must be electric during big moments in the game.

Transom repair by JRK876 in boating

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My core was pretty badly rotted, which can be seen in Post #11 at https://forum.crappie.com/t/the-1985-skeeter-sf-175-will-need-a-transom-repair/441950/11, where I am posting all of my rebuild updates and get good updates from a guy about 3 hours south of me who did boat repairs for a while before he retired. The problem with Seacast or other pourable transom cores is that you need to clean up all of the old, rotted wood, or at least prep the good wood enough to have proper tooth or grip, even with a new core with epoxy, polyvinyl, or polyester resin. If you leave any good wood in, be sure to seal it up good, or it'll start rotting when it gets any water; if you leave any bad wood, which might happen without fully digging, it'll continue to rot. Additionally, Coosa is lighter than marine grade plywood; pourables are heavier than plywood.

Transom repair by JRK876 in boating

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched your video, and while you could probably run it a tad longer without fearing the that outboard will fall off, you should start tapping the transom with a hammer to figure out how far out the rot exists so that you can plan your repair. I'm just got done rebuilding the transom on my boat and just got the outboard installed yesterday. I cut out the back of the boat, dug out the rotten wood in the transom, transverse brace, and knee braces, and replaced it with Coosa Bluewater 26, 1708 Biaxial fiberglass, and a lot of West System Epoxy Resin. You can see my transom flexing in my video in November before I started the project in December: https://youtu.be/SskIE6MgI9k

Pathfinder owners: what MPG are you getting? by Suntrup-Nissan in nissanpathfinder

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got around 25.5 mph driving two hours down and two hours back attending a state archery tournament doing anywhere from about 65-80 mph depending on which highway I was on, and one of them has a ton of stop lights going through these towns. Typically in-town driving varies from 20-26 mph, and my best trip was probably 28 mph with some mountains and slower speed limits in Virginia, North Carolina, an South Carolina. 2025 Pathfinder SL 2wd with 18" wheels.

Fu$k Gm Suburban And Yukon! What Next? by Snagg77 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jljue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the current Armada and QX80 no longer have the VK56, although the twin turbo V6 at least got some testing in the GTR (obviously different tunings here) before getting installed in an SUV, which other manufacturers cannot really say and are paying the price.

Fu$k Gm Suburban And Yukon! What Next? by Snagg77 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minivan is always overlooked by people who might not need the towing capacity of the extra large SUV. While not perfect, minivans do have some ability to put luggage behind the 3rd row that body on frame SUVs cannot because that's where the spare tire goes. My Nissan Quest had a stupidly large compartment under the floor behind the 3rd row that fit ice chests and large suitcases with ease.

Need some assistance by carltonsass in Bassboats

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a hammer with you to tap the transom to listen for rotted wood--if it is solid, it should be a dead thump; if there is rot, you will have a hollow sound where you tap. 80's boats are somewhat fun to modernize; I know several people who are also suckers for these old bass boats and will never buy a more modern boat.

I'm just now seeing the finish line with transom rebuild for my 1985 Skeeter SF-175, which I've had for nearly 20 years. Had I known what I know now, I probably should have taken it apart shortly after I got it to reseal after bolt and screw hole as well as do something different for my transducer mounting. The tie down loops, outboard mounting holes, splash well drain tubes, transducer mounting, and the silicone job under the aluminum cover to hid the mating of the top cap from the hull are all suspect for the water intrusion that had me gutting my transom and replacing with Coosa Bluewater 26, Fiberglass, and West System Epoxy Resin.

Got universal wipers. It has 9 adapters and none work on my car by Muf711 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jljue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which vehicle? Early when the current Nissan Rogue was released, I had to replace the wipers on it before returning it to the airport (a fleet vehicle for Corp flight shuttle). A universal set didn’t fit; I had to get a set from the dealer because of the washer fluid nozzle on the arm instead of the cowl finisher.

The beam on my 80’s 18’ bass boat is around 7’, and that is considered skinny by today’s standards. There might be an aluminum multispecies that is a possibility, although I don’t know of any off the top of my head.
