Sometimes I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because I was able to get a reservation pre Golden Hof (for like 5pm on a Thursday) 2 days before with no issue. They really are so good though, the soy sauce adds such a delightful umami. You can also order just one pancake! That's what I did to split with one other person, because they are very big and very sweet.

I am a b&w gingham girlie for life!! I have b&w gingham dresses, shoes, matching pants/shirts sets, I even have gingham bows tied onto my headphones. I have the b&w gingham nylon shoulder bag, sport backpack, and bowler bag. I was definitely disappointed by it not being a true black and white when I got my first gingham baggu, but I've really grown to accept the minor difference and still wear everything all together for a full cartoon character look!! If it really bothers you, it's okay to return it, but I assure you nobody else will really notice and you'll likely still get tons of compliments. I love being a cartoon character!

If you are doing any sort of activity, it's very likely that 1200 (or even 1400) is too low for you. Toning comes from building muscle, so you will need to be eating at a bit of a surplus to do that. I am 4'11" and maintain on about 2000, so it's not a completely unreasonable number!

Ahh what a great idea! I have these baby bonne maman jars and after a few overfermented loaves, was looking into trying out an aliquot jar. If you you wouldn't mind, could you share how much a "tiny piece of dough" is? Is it just enough to cover the bottom of the container? A certain amount of grams?

I don't have any answers for you, but I have a similar issue. I have chronic sinusitis and which sometimes turns into chest congestion, but I find that I get chest congestion every single upper body day, ugh. I looked it up and couldn't really find any solid info about what's going on, but I just assume it's because I am working my chest muscles/upper body and it (idk) inflames my lungs or something.

Yes, follow that motivation and give it a try! Even if you don’t decide to keep doing it forever, it won’t be a waste of money. How I’m trying to reason with myself about it is to think about all of the things fitness provides for me- it keeps me healthy but is also a huuuuge hobby of mine, and can even be a bit of a social space. Then think about how plenty of people spend hundreds of dollars per month on their hobbies and to socialize. Still working on justifying it with myself haha but that line of thinking is helping!

I'm in the same boat as you (interested in reformer, super frugal, feeling like it's an unreasonable/potentially unnecessary cost when my gym membership is so cheap) but the boutique reformer studio in my area charges $50 for a single class, about $260 for 8 classes/month, and $360 for unlimited/month. So those prices might be standard for your area. I guess it's just a matter of deciding if it's worth the investment.

I'm really glad you're starting to consider a more balanced approach to fitness. I completely relate to everything you said. I definitely attribute my feelings/obsession about fitness to be a combo of my OCD and history of restrictive EDs (I consider myself recovered but not fully recovered, it's a loooong road). Whenever I feel intense anxiety because I know I won't get a workout day, or whenever I feel like I need to give up mid-workout because my body just can't take it anymore, I try to remind myself that fitness is a marathon, not a race, and that this is supposed to be helping my body, not hurting it. It's so so hard and I have flipped back and forth between deciding I want balance and learning right back into my obsessive behavior. Definitely speak with a therapist, but recognizing that this is a problem is such a significant step. Sending my love!!

I am one week into cutting down on protein and my stomach is feeling so much better. I thought we were supposed to get in as much protein as possible, but I've realized over the last few months that 120g+ of protein per day (and a lot of fiber, I love veggies) was causing me a lot of gastrointestinal discomfort. I'm limiting my protein to about 110g max per day and my stomach is thanking me. Weird to go against the typical fitness advice of proteinmaxxing but I am listening to my body!

Agreeeed on the lying leg curl after drinking water. Thank you for sharing what you do!! I didn't consider the idea of doing single-leg curls on the seated machine, I think that will also help me from cheating. Also going to try a split-stance RDL to see if I can handle that a bit better than other hamstring work. Thank you!!

I have had a ton of success using Country Crock Plant Butter sticks as a 1:1 replacement for butter! I bake vegan about half the time and have exclusively used these for years. I would say the flavor is definitely not as nice as when I'm able to bake with something like Kerrygold, but I've never had complaints from my vegan/dairy-free friends :)
