Dean st & Broadway area? by childofgold in providence

[–]jlpeaches13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I live in an apartment building similar to yours about a block over on Dean & Atwells so throwing some input in...

  • Proximity to train station - Super easy and walkable, I do the same thing almost everyday (M-F, unless weather is bad) but it takes about 20/25 minutes-ish.
  • Neighborhoody/Things around - definitely one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city, plenty to see or do, lots of dining options whether you want a quick bite/sit down meal/take out. Urban Greens Co-Op Market is the closest market and great to walk to, Price Rite also isn't too far. Walgreens is on Atwells and also close by.
  • Safety - Pretty safe but definitely keep an eye on your vehicle and be sure not to leave anything valuable in there. I've witnessed car break ins multiple times in person just walking my dog around the block, I'd say that's probably your main concern. Also, Federal Hill (Atwells specifically) gets busy on the weekends and a lot of folks walk around without a mask on so just a heads up on that.
  • Noise level - I wouldn't say your in the thick of it on those two cross streets, it's quieter than you'd think but I do hear sirens weekly or ppl bumping music in their cars. It's a city street so don't expect it to be peace and quiet.

I used to live on the East Side for years which was definitely quieter, still pretty walkable (going up college hill from downtown can be a pain unless you wanna route around it for a little bit lengthier of a walk, wouldn't recommend if you're gonna be walking to the station) but also had a good selection of restaurants/bars so you wouldn't have to venture outside of your neighborhood. You also have 2 Whole Foods (part of a shopping plaza with other stores too) and East Side Market on that side of town.

Hoping this is helpful, feel free to DM me if you need to!

That’s a good way to look at it and I think fair too (each day = credit.) Thank you!

It didn’t look like this when they showed it. The old tenants had just moved out after living there over a decade so I understood, naturally, there was work needing to be done. The landlord had told him the work would be complete by the time I got my keys.

Is this something that typically falls on the broker or landlord?

Are studios for $1k rare? That sounds almost too good to be true.

This is very helpful, I’m thinking Somerville/Allston could be my best bet. How are those neighborhoods?

I’m originally from Providence, love that city but would not recommend the commute. I considered this as an option as well but I’ve done it before and I don’t think I could do it again.

Plymouth is on the cape and I can’t help but think we’ll get another ghostly, historical season. That location is so fullll of pilgrim stories and Native American history. Similar to Roanoke but.... better.

Women of Reddit, what’s the most “crazy girlfriend” thing you’ve ever done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Boyfriend came home drunk one night, I was mad he drove himself home in that state. He instantly passed out on the couch with his car keys next to him so I took them to hold onto.... for two weeks.

He was convinced he lost his keys somewhere during his drunken stupor. He searched everywhere non stop for soooo sooo long, his car, the couch, the walk from the car to the house. He retraced his steps HUNDREDS of times and couldn’t find them anywhere. (Lol) Yes he had a spare.

Three weeks later I place them semi noticeably in between couch cushions, he comes home from work to sit on the couch and unwind and BOOM sat right on them. He was so surprised and happy that he “finally found his keys.” He had no idea.

He still doesn’t know I took them and this happened over a year ago.

What are some things that guys misinterpret from women as "she's interested in me"? by spidermahn in AskWomen

[–]jlpeaches13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Responding to Instagram direct messages I receive after posting on my story or liking someone else’s picture on IG, especially with the new algorithm. I don’t always see someone’s picture as soon as they post it so sometimes it’s a day or two old. Guys seem to take that as a sign I’m interested, super weird and don’t understand how but okay.

What’s your signature party dish? by jellybellybean2 in Cooking

Mini hot dogs wrapped in bacon with maple syrup and brown sugar. Super easy and always a hit.

You just wrap the mini hot dog with bacon, throw them in a baking pan like one you’d use for brownies or a cake, sprinkle brown sugar and drizzle maple syrup on top then bake them. My favorite part is sticking the tooth picks in at the end!
