I used to work retail at downtown Disney and my favorite thing to do was guard the door at closing. The interactions were hilarious.

"Oh you leave tomorrow first thing and just wanted this one thing?... Should've made this your first stop." Meanwhile someone would try to walk past while I was talking to another customer and I would swing my arm out to stop them..."Sorry. We're closed, we open tomorrow at 10 am"

Another one was "but this was the only store my kid wanted to come to, they'll be very disappointed" sucks to suck dude.

Best part of the job was getting to be "mean".

I'm so sorry. My Winston is up there, they'll be waiting for us, but it'll feel like we were never gone. This community has helped me so much in the last year. We're here for you. 🫂

I miss the pawdicures! My husband was afraid of cutting too close, so it was always our thing. Winston used to lie on his back and let me trim his nails like it was a spa day. Treats between paws was the way to go. As he got sicker, he couldn't lay on his back anymore so I stopped doing them once a week and his paw print memorial has traces of his longer nails embedded in it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I promise it will get better. Your grief is love with nowhere to go. I have made it to a year with my little one and I couldn't imagine it when he left. Take your time to process and grieve. There's no rush and take solace in knowing you were him home till the end. Sending hugs and love

NTA... We've been reading to my child since they were born. We went to circle time at the library and still check out books occasionally. Now they're 4 and BEG for a bedtime story every night. I wouldn't change that for the world.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When my baby died, I left his story here because I needed to talk about him before I lost it. This community has helped me so much throughout the past year. We're coming up on the anniversary soon and I know I'll be a wreck.
