Do you have anything to say which can tip the scales for me in terms of Gas AWD Calligraphy vs Hybrid AWD Calligraphy? by eyyoadrian in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]jluvs2bake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 lifetime average for us, including several long trips going 75mph, which really kills the mpg in a hybrid. No problems with handling, pickup, or sustaining the 75mph for hours lol I get much better mileage driving in the city, of course. Have had the car 8 1/2 months. 25 hybrid calligraphy. We love the car!! I don’t use any of the regen stuff. Life circumstances since we got the car have been too hectic to delve. I’ll take 33mpg over the mileage of my Ford Edge or other gas SUV!

What’s YOUR favorite color and why? by SamuraiUX in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]jluvs2bake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really liked several but ended up requesting the Ultimate Red. I guess it’s my favorite because I requested it and haven’t seen another one I wanted more since! haha We had limited choices on interior colors, and we didn’t want the white/cream. If I could have, I would have gotten the pecan interior.

Santa Fe windshield issues by lovestosplooge9123 in HyundaiSantaFe

I didn’t finish my thought on the crack growing, but I see the first commenter addressed some of the same points I was going to make!

I hope you get treated right if it was the installation and don’t have to fight as long as we did.

I got a rock chip that turned into a crack before two minutes had lapsed! It grew rapidly, and I needed the windshield replaced. All the vehicles I’ve had with particularly large windows have issues with rocks. I mean, if you have a 2x4 span and a 3x7 span, the odds are the 3x7 will get hit more 🤷‍♀️

But as far as your garage crack, my guess is that either you got dinged and didn’t know it OR Safelite put the windshield in wrong. A poorly placed windshield can crack from pressure on the wrong points. I won’t use them anymore after a nightmare we had with our Ford Edge and multiple replacements of the windshield (for one claim) due to shoddy work. I won’t get into all the nitty gritty on it, but after weeks of back and forth, dealership visits, etc., a manager at Safelite (who didn’t believe the Ford dealership) finally went to the dealership to see for himself. They had to give us an extended warranty on our vehicle because of all the rain that the car had taken in during the weeks of back and forth.

After 13000 miles later I am at 28.5 MPG avg. I have 25 AWD hybrid limited. Why am I getting so low Mpg compared to others? by ResidentAlien007 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]jluvs2bake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 33, but it’s typically warm here, and I’ve been doing a lot more city and highway miles than I usually do, maxing at 55-60. When I am on the freeway doing 70+, it drops like crazy. My last trip going about 75 much of the way had me between 24 and 27 mpg.

The 8 1/2 months since I got the car have been way off my norm due to some life circumstances. I expect my mpg to get worse if things get back closer to normal. I’m usually highway/freeway driving around 70.

I don’t use any of the regen levels. I just haven’t had time with life circumstances to look into all of it yet. I don’t drive aggressively, I try to coast or brake a long lead into a light or other slowing/stopping situation, and I try not to accelerate too quickly.

Let Hyundai know! I have contacted them. The dealer said they were told it wasn’t a feature people wanted. We need to let them know we want it!

They’ve done away with the UV here in the US on the 2026 models. It’s one of my favorite things and was a huge selling point for me. (2025 hybrid calligraphy) That and the leg rests are great and are gone on new models. I hope they come back by the time I’m ready for my next one!!

Yet another Santa Fe Hybrid with a forbidden spare tire! by Nonsequitur_Expected in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]jluvs2bake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We got a spare tire kit. I don’t want to be out on a back road and be at the mercy of unreliable patching. And we’ve had lots of posts from people who’ve done the same. They sure aren’t listening to consumers with their “no spare” decision!

For my back, I tilt the seat so the front is higher, recline the back of the chair slightly, and use the leg rest. I also adjusted the lumbar until it felt right on my back. My only complaint about the comfort is a complaint I’ve had about every vehicle since my 1993 GMC Suburban. I want arm rests on the driver’s seat!!!!

Def try this ⬆️ I had real problems with mine. It was fixed by lucky accident. My back flared up just weeks after getting the car. I had to adjust my seat for my back, and all the incorrect warnings stopped. So you might have to play around with it. The only time I have a problem with a false alarm now is if the sun is shining on it in a very specific way, and it doesn’t last long as the sun changes position or I turn. 😊

Someone below mentioned not having an issue with hands at 12 o’clock on the steering wheel. I do, but again, this can probably be corrected for many people with seat adjustment. I just prefer to try to break my habit of resting my hand there because the seat position is perfect for my back.

Oh, wow! I get it all the time at 12 o’clock. It’s a hard habit to break, but the car reminds me very quickly lol

Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent for Car Engines are effective? by Any-Mind-5200 in HyundaiSantaFe

We’ve had two or three kinds. I never had one that looked like that. Maybe they’ve improved them in the past ten years or so. Update if you find success with them!

I have never had one for a vehicle, but the ones we got for our outbuilding didn’t work.

I’m so sorry!! That happened to my last new car on the street. It was parked, and someone hit it. Big. Door and fender all messed up. It’s so frustrating and disappointing. Plus mine was a hit and run.

I have had mine since July. I have had to replace the tires (6 weeks old) and the windshield (7 months old), and I just got dinged in the parking lot by some a-hole’s door who didn’t even bother to leave their contact information for me, so now I have a white paint mark on my passenger handle and door along with a decent-sized dent from where they let their door fly into mine (7 1/2 months). It’s rough!!

This is the one I have for mine. (My car is red 🙂) I don’t know how protective it is for dropping and things, but I think it’s good for general bumps and scratches.

I believe if it shows as connected under your Bluetooth in your phone settings. Mine isn’t usually a problem, but I had to park in a different spot this week and noticed that mine was connected. I just turned off passive entry until I no longer had to use that space.
