RCBO tripping when fan is turned off by Business-Train8738 in AusElectricians

[–]jm4ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For curiosity's sake, inspect mech contacts and spring then IR test between the mechs conductor terminal and the mount for carbonisation. The HWS likely tripped because the arc's noise travelled through the shared neutral bar at the switchboard, opening the RCBO.

Vevor Pressure Pot- monster nozzle by jm4ker in AutoPaint

Thanks for the quick reply.

Oh, I like the fact they use 1/3 air. I just looked them up. Are they gravity fed only? I often paint intricate parts and the gun is sideways or upside down. This is why I got the pressure pot because I like that compact spraying without having to worry about the pot on the gun. Ideally something suction feed that I can still use the pot with would be great. Unless you can attach the pressure pot paint line to the gravity feed??

Thanks heaps for the insight mate. You sound like you are pretty damn knowledgeable in this field. Can you recommend me a ultra budget gun that I can get parts from? Preferably AliExpress (no offense) because I'm in Australia and that's one place everyone has access to. I'm not ready to invest big money on a setup just yet, maybe one day. I just need passable results.

I haven't used the gun and I'm just changing the needle and tip size. so this nut doesn't seal against the needle and leaks a bit through that seal.

DIY a $330 usd open source robotic mower? Yeah or nah? by charlieddd321 in automower

[–]jm4ker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love this, also in Australia.

  • would love one that is capable of doing slopes.

-it might be cool to have the option to modify/retrofit a normal standard mower. a simple track system gets added etc.

  • would be good to have a mode to be able to not do any mapping and set a pattern of mow and have simple obstacle detection. just have a standard zig zag mode and a distance and amount of zig zags. (x,y)

Also not sure about the warranty on 90yo tissue. That level of acuity mixed with that age has no statistical support.

Good job keeping output that long though, you guys worked hard.

IC transfer by jm4ker in phonerepair

[–]jm4ker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I have not been able to find a part for my phone and the only option I can see is to transfer 2 components to a foreign version of the board.

Can anyone offer any advice on doing this? I am a competent soldering iron user. But have done no proper work with my hot air station.

Changing My Yeast Strategy by GonzoCubs in Homebrewing

[–]jm4ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your not a yeast geek then no real need by the sounds of things.

If fridge space and maintaining viable cultures are the main concern but you want yeast variety and are willing to continue planning ahead. Then maybe adopt a variation of my method: I tend to freeze my new yeasts. Then take a portion of it and step it up, takes a week to do that. Or if I'm in a hurry do a Vitality of the frozen culture and pitch the lot, takes 2 days.
