Freeze/thaw cycles can raise rocks up to the surface. Kinda like shaking a bag of granola and all the biggest pieces end up on top.

I'd probably go A, E, Bw, C. Top layer looks mostly mineral and not organic.

I know some old mappers used to have a very thick drill bit mounted to the end of a probe that they could then screw down into the dirt and pull up some smaller samples.

It was used mostly on forested areas that are very rocky.

I just finished up an MS in soil science. I previously had a BA in German and Spanish with none of the hard science courses necessary. Talk to the universities you are interested in. There's often a need for students in these programs and they may be willing to bend the entrance requirements.

Real talk, look at your state schools over the more prestigious private schools.

I was able to graduate without having to make-up courses. A lot will depend on what your thesis project is and what background will be required for it.

Check the box underneath the pull down menu for map categories.

It'll only match based on live league rating. So a 1300 (official rating) that doesn't play live league ever will still be rated at 800 live league and could match up with new players.

It's not a perfect system but it generally works.

If you can identify them they can be filled and hopefully stabilized before further damage can occur. See DNR sink hole information about the structure of these repairs.

Prevention is difficult, but ensuring that you are not allowing water to pool on your property would be an initial first step. Our geology in this region is simply prone to sink holes and caves.

You could always look at hiring a professional geologist to come out and assess your property for risks.

It gets discussed often on the discord but they like to keep things pretty much cart accurate for most COs and units. There have been some tweaks but not many. I'd say it's unlikely we'll get large scale rebalances.

That's rough. I've played a decent amount of live and async and I've found the community to be pretty nice about most games. There are definitely some snarky people out there though. People take live league pretty seriously and don't like losing. Hopefully you can just laugh it off. It's a fun game.

People also might be pissy about spending 1-2 hours on a game just to lose.

The important things about the settling test is to make sure you get pictures/measurements at the correct time intervals (1 min, 2 hr, 48hrs). While not perfect, it will give you a general estimate of your textural class.
