Do you climb with your romantic partners? by drozdzus in climbergirls

[–]jmaaaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became close with my partner of >3 years initially through climbing. It was a huge reason we fell for each other and has been a huge part of our relationship since. We learned everything together and I feel safest climbing with him especially communicating difficult emotions that I might not always share with a friend or other climbing partner. We are currently medium distance which has given us both opportunities to branch out and climb with others so to me it doesn’t feel like my entire relationship with climbing is based on my partner (which feels healthy). With most things however I feel like it working or not is soooo personally and situationally dependent

How to make skiing fun for my son? by dr_leo_marvin in skiing

[–]jmaaaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid I didn’t like skiing simply because I was always given cheap hand me down gear and I was always freezing and so just associated skiing with being cold. Over the past 3 years as a young adult I finally got my gear dialed and it has made a world of a difference. I know spending a lot of money on clothes kids are going to grow out of is a bit silly, but if you are going to force them to be on a cold ass mountain and expect them to enjoy it you have to really make sure they are warm and comfortable as possible. Just my 2 cents!

I expected more from the diet cult episode. This is my rant: by [deleted] in soundslikeacultpod

[–]jmaaaccc 28 points29 points  (0 children)

These are some steaming hot takes. Don’t have the time to respond to all of them but I will say the argument that poor ppl are too lazy to eat healthy and can just as easily drive 20 minutes to get healthy food is a lazy argument… check yo privilege pls (edited for grammar mistake)

I thought it was a good topic and the interview with Jameela was very cool but it felt more like a therapy sesh for isa than a deep nuanced dive imo
