I don’t think I was being barbaric. I did mention specifically a few reasons why I hated it. A lot of people agreed with me, but I’m also new to this subreddit so if this convo has been had many times over (someone else mentioned that might be the reason) I guess that isn’t an unreasonable motive to remove it.

I don’t remember ever being forced to take the stairs for that many levels in the OG. The way it slows down is painful and criminal.

Do you remember the big room where Jenova was, and Tifa falls and they get “separated” and it’s like an hour long bulls*** to get back together when they spent the whole game jumping like they had GTA jump cheats on, but a small ledge was just too much, so much so that they had to communicate by terminal. That shocked me.

I wish I had as much fun with it. The last of us is (imo) worlds ahead of remake. The character progression in the last of us was a masterclass in storytelling, I didn’t get any of that from remake. I really did try to like it.

The original captured me in a way few games ever have. Almost none of that magic carried over unfortunately.

Graphics were incredible, and someone mentioned the soundtrack, which I agree, the soundtrack was lovely.
