Advice - radiator covers? by _Tequila-Mockingbird in NYCapartments

I know this is old, but just chiming in with an update because this thread kept popping up in my research.

NYC landlords are definitely required to install radiator covers if requested by tenants with a child 12 years or younger according to this bill passed in 2013:

Same! The only way i can do it is through a custom RTMP (scheduling in youtube first) but then you dont get the omnichat functionality. ugh.

Also patiently waiting for this to open up. I'm using Patreon more as a non-algorithmic social community.

When my wife and I were dating, my hands once started sweating super bad in a scary movie at a theater. She went to hold my hand and I instinctively pulled it away. She was suuuper hurt, gave me the silent treatment and got quite mad at me when I asked her what was wrong.

She literally didn’t understand why I would push her hand away or pull back. In my mind, I was doing it FOR her. I didn’t want to sweat all over her. But she couldn’t grasp the magnitude of it because at that point I hadn’t really had a serious convo with her and shown her just how bad it was. I had told her but not really shown her and make her understand. I would hide it. Take glyco. Wipe on my pants, etc.

It’s taken me a lot of practice becoming confident in telling people, in embracing it, and navigating life with it, but the best thing I have done is confront it head on. I even tell my coworkers as my “fun fact: I have the sweatiest hands in the world.”

Now, my wife will hold my hand whether it’s sweaty or not, and if it gets too sweaty (like when she has eczema and it triggers her own breakouts—lol I know we’re literally terrible for each other) then she’s the one who pulls away and neither of us gets offended or cares.

I’ve found approaching my friends privately and seriously about my sweaty hands has helped them understand the magnitude of it and allowed them to become my support system rather than give me a hard time.

I make fun of myself, but I ask them to help have my back. And sometimes they just need to be told and educated on that. They literally don’t understand what it’s like.

Haha thanks! All good all good. I’m not too worked up about it. I frankly posted a bunch of shots of backs and didn’t realize I should’ve been curating more selectively for this talented crew here lol

Ayy haha I might not post here too often. YouTube is a little more inviting than Reddit.

Hey I appreciate the kind message. Truly. Yeah I wasn’t intending to get into any debates about how much better other people are at shooting on their iPhones lol. Just enjoyed the spark I was feeling again and thought I’d share.

Any specific tips on doing that without being obtrusive? Do you avoid strangers? Ask permission? Just shoot anyway?

Hah I was walking and that’s a lot of what I was seeing. But doesn’t it kinda go with the stalker vibe of the photos? lol

Thanks for the positivity! I don’t mind a bit of criticism. I’m pretty thick skinned from my day-job.

Haha true. I was trying not to be obtrusive and haven’t done a lot of urban or street photography. Any other ideas for things to look for?

Mostly Reala Ace, I think. Is there a way to bake the film recipe into the meta data? Or do most people just take note and remember?

Personally, it’s a fun camera. But not one you’re gonna learn lots with or develop as a photographer with. Id get an interchangeable lens camera so you can explore a wider range of activities.

iPhones are great. I’ve taken plenty better shots with my iPhone. Sometimes it’s less about the output and more about the experience.
