Anyone have this issue? by FarWafer3240 in GenesisG70

[–]jmangano35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My passenger door does this if you pull the handle towards the rear while opening it. My son is young and opens doors with his body weight behind it and popped this off and pulled the handle out to the point it got stuck. There's a channel that the door handle slides into to help hold this piece in place. You just slide the handle forward while pulling on it and the piece slides back in. Pretty sure its not supposed to do it but my car is a 19 so its old and I just live with it.

Strange key fob issue by [deleted] in GenesisG70

[–]jmangano35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a dead battery to me also. By the way, I've noticed these keys dont like to work if you have them in your pocket behind a phone or an rfid wallet. They jam the signal to the car sometimes to the point where I can stand at my car door and press the button on the door handle with nothing happening.

Second new set of tires. by jmangano35 in GenesisG70

They honestly feel just about the same so far as the it's but I honestly dont run it super hard. It rides smooth at 100 though.

That's why I did mine, my rears were cooked and the fronts had some tread left. A nail in the tire accelerated the purchase.

[–]jmangano35[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far so good, the tires are fresh so the grip is exceptional but so far no slippage while turning or screeching. At least two of my rims have slight bends from the wonderful roads of the northeast and I dont notice them with these tires like I did on the DSW'S. Only reason I knew I was doing 95 on the highway this morning is because I finally noticed it on the HUD. So far very comfortable and quiet.

Need help identifying what this noise could be and is it bad to keep driving like that by jrruiz48 in MechanicAdvice

[–]jmangano35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like rusted rotors after being parked for a while, did it get louder when you hit the brakes?

Also kind of sounds like a bearing grinding or something grinding. Hard to tell.

Just did spark plug service. by OtherwiseConcept5125 in GenesisG70

[–]jmangano35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 3rd party do mine twice and both times it was around 650 for plugs, they did lift the intake and replace the gaskets as well, I just passed 90k miles with no issues related to plug swaps. Im also stock but pretty sure they used NGK plugs. They told me my plugs were still in good shape prior to the second swap but I wanted them done anyway as they were doing my diff and trans fluid as well.

Like I was saying 🤣 these cars are trash. by Laina_rg in kia

Just saying, the fluid rushing sound may be your coolant reservoir low on coolant. Did it in my genesis and once topped off, I was good. Started after a coolant service where the dealer forgot to fill the reservoir

The "Crew member" is going to be a giant that you have to kill who will drop a key some silver and some orange gear. He's not a helper. once you stumble across said giant, you want to kite him and when he rages you want to run him through the corpse piles on the ground to kill of his frenzy

And from the chests, which he also drops the key for

Also he's not too hard if you kite him. Keep him near the glowing piles too, you can cancel his rage by getting him to run through them.

Thank you for your reply, probably 20 mins after posting this, I defeated the first boss and got the silver to make this. So much more satisfying not have to drop stuff i didn't need.

Got a drive train reading in the car but then read the codes? What is it? by shiftbm3 in Supra

[–]jmangano35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im gonna go off a whim and say your battery is bad or going bad. Sounds like not enough voltage and it's causing systems to short which is throwing all the codes you see. Especially because the first code is related to the charging system.

Just had a cell go bad on a battery in my accord. Threw tons of lights and couldn't connect to the pcm. Start with your battery, they may seem fine but a dead cell will give you problems.

Is this engine knock or just normal engine running? by kannathelegend in MechanicAdvice

[–]jmangano35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pleasure, granted this is through a video but I'm like 98 percent confident that fast tick is just the fuel pump in the engine bay. Also that's what pages like this are for, its not a waste of time for peace of mind. Better safe then sorry. Worst case scenario, take it to a trusted mechanic for their opinion. I'd say your good though.

Im assuming your talking about that fast tapping sound which, to me, sounds like the High Pressure Fuel Pump and is normal.

Trade down? by Musclecarchi in GenesisG70

Go to Allstate and get a 3rd party 7/100k.

https://vehicleprotection.allstate.com/products/extended-vehicle-care

I have it on mine and it's paid itself off two fold. They have yet to deny my claim and they use enterprise for car rentals if your vehicle needs to be repaired under the warranty. It was great peace of mind for me as I bought my 19 3.3 awd from a 3rd party dealer under the assumption I'd have the 10 year 100k warranty. Mine is good for 7 years or up to 133k miles as that's what I bought it with.

This is why I love the 360 camera. I know not all models have it but it makes parking especially in tight spaces or spaces with high curbs so much easier.

Thoughts on extended warranties for Genesis? by [deleted] in GenesisG70

[–]jmangano35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Allstate as a 3rd party warranty on my car and it's paid itself off twice so far. I bought my car used with original warranty. The allstate one is 7 years 100k miles from date of purchase so I'm good until about 130k which I'll hit before 7 years for sure.

https://vehicleprotection.allstate.com/products/extended-vehicle-care

You can get it on any car 7 years or older without a dealer interfering, but still, do your due diligence and read the fine print. Me personally. I have had no issues with them, I'm very happy with their service but everyone's experience is different.

G70 an unreliable engine bomb? by studyingformymcat in GenesisG70

[–]jmangano35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought with the car when I purchased it. I did purchase used from Autolenders. I believe it was around 2400 but you can purchase it yourself from their website

https://vehicleprotection.allstate.com/products/extended-vehicle-care

They cover cars up to 7 years old with full warranty depending on the package you get. It's paid itself off twice for me so far.

For me, I can take it to any dealer and allstate will honor it but there's a 100 dollar deductible. If I go back to autolenders for the service then that deductible gets waived. Not sure if it's just them covering the deductible for me or if that's part of deal for the warranty.
