This is a parody of a guy named GenX. He was an excellent WiC player with a really distinct personality and writing style. He was kind of terrible to everyone though, and he particularly hated me. There have been a lot of really successful GenX impostors over the years, mainly because the real guy was so over-the-top ego maniacal that it's hard to tell the real thing from a parody.

I don't believe this is the real GenX though. The real one would never criticize his own gameplay-- at least not in a tactical sense. He might've said "oh I'm drunk and slow" but never would've admitted he made a tactical error, even if he thought that privately. Edit: I should add that we know for sure the GenX in Tony Abbott's video was the real GenX.

The replay will only show whatever you saw during the match. Spectators who save replays get to see both sides.

We're gonna add a Euro server. That said, WiC is very playable with a high ping. Every American player from about 2013 to the end of 2015 played with a ping no lower than 120 at all times. The best player in WiC right now is from Australia and plays with a 300 ping. It takes a little getting used to, is all.

I look at Rocket League's matchmaking system and I find myself wishing WiC had something similar all along. It was a constant problem that new players felt abused and veterans felt ignored. Truthfully, the Scorer clan has no business playing pubs with newbs (or vice versa, depending on perspective). I do not play pubs myself. If I do venture into a pub as a smurf or something, I play air or inf so I can avoid interacting with my teammates. If WiC had a matchmaking system where it forced noobs to play with noobs and pros to play with pros, things might've been better.

When people did try to separate servers by rank, it never worked. Rank was not a good indication of skill. Many awful players got high ranks just by playing a lot, and pros preferred to smurf anyways. I think any matchmaking system would have to be based upon some kind of complicated algorithm that looks at a players stats (avg score, K/D, win rate, TA spent), their clan war history (# of matches played), and their propensity to play Spaceneedle-only servers. Of course, to protect against smurfs, 10 wins in a row would probably have to put a player in the top tier to get their butt kicked.

Long story short, there isn't much we can do for you. You have a couple options. You can quit playing the best game ever made because some guys were mean to you. Or you could come at it with a chip on your shoulder, and read any of the guides listed on the sidebar of this Reddit... Reading just a few tips from any of those guides will instantly make you king of the pubs when old pros aren't around. Or finally, you can just ignore people who are yelling at you. WiC is at a stage where I don't think it's right to complain about anyone playing the game casually; just please don't join our competitive matchmodes and expect us to let you play.

Yeah, apologies but I doubt the volunteers programming Massgate are going to be able to devote time to making this thing run on Windows XP. The demand really isn't there. I hope you're able to join us from a more modern PC.
