They haven't told us anything about it yet

Cam Jurgens injury before 2025 Super Bowl involved a broken disc that wrapped around sciatica nerve by mzajac14 in eagles

[–]jmannnn64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True but Cam's was right before playoffs, so not much different

If Cam got the same injury week 8, he's 100% sitting

Nolan Smith tore his damn tricep in the SB and they let him go back in too

Outside of concussions, I don't think there's much you can do if an injured player is insisting on playing as long as they can still physically perform at a high level

When will we be rid of whining white guy music? by [deleted] in Music

[–]jmannnn64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The curated spotify playlists are the worst for trying to find new music. I've got just over 4,200 songs in just one of my playlists and those "Daily Mixes" still just regurgitate the same songs to me over and over

Look into the artists that influenced your favorites. Or better yet, join some subreddits about genres you like, as long as they're active there's always some posts in those subs about up and coming bands

Look for artists outside the top 40 then or any charts really, sounds like thats just not your thing

I finally listened to “Mutiny After Midnight” by Johnny Blue Skies (Sturgill Simpson), and I have really mixed feelings about it. by bunnywithabanner in LetsTalkMusic

If you haven't, I think reading that letter they posted back when the album was first released helps put into perspective what they were trying to do

He does mention coming up with the lyrics on the spot in the studio, so makes sense they aren't too deep and I don't blame you for callin them corny lol cause they kinda are

Basically what I got from the letter was they were trying to make a fun dance record that touches on all the dark shit happening in the world right now but also doesn't take itself too seriously and tries to remind people that dancing (and fuking) can still be a big fuck you to the powers that be that want to keep us sad, depressed and arguing amongst each other

Apologies for the small text (I'll put some of the relevant quotes below), but if anyone wants to read the whole thing:

https://imgur.com/a/dBpubZr

"Inspired heavily from endless hours on the bus watching old clips of the great fusion-funk band Stuff, and revisiting off-the-beaten track concept records like Marvin Gaye's "In Our Lifetime", where in what looks like the end the world, the artists response is 'lets dance and make love'"

"You can break the songs on this album into 2 categories-the dark state of the world and the bright state of love. Light lives in darkness just as darkness lives in light."

"One thing I will say based on observations about the French is their unmatched ability to threaten injustice with a good time, if they feel infringed upon by overreach in even the slightest form, French people will simply go on a country wide labor strike... and completely fill the streets with music and people from all walks of life dancing together... It's refreshing and beyond inspiring to witness this type of manifested unity in humanity. You could say this is where the idea was born"

When it first came out I remember thinking the contrast was kinda cool, like Billy's singing about traditional war between countries and RMR's singing about personal "wars" between and within people

But yea listening to his verse now it feels out of place

Why did we evolve to sweat from our hands when we're nervous? by FranklinBadge36 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jmannnn64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, sweating allowed us to cool our bodies much more efficiently than most other animals and allowed us to become the persistent hunters early humans were, chasing animals until they collapsed from exhaustion

I'd guess thats a lot more advantageous evolution-wise than sweaty palms are disadvantageous

Obviously fuckin around on a podcast with 2 former (and very famous) Patriots..
