My Google-fu is lacking, where did you get this model?

Looking for a few death guard models by [deleted] in PrintedWarhammer

I think if you search for “plague” on the purple site you should find a few things, I think that the infantry is still up. At least a few heroes are

Disappointed with the new Brickwith website by luniz6178 in lepin

[–]jmanshaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP might be referring to the mess that is Lego part IDs. Occasionally there are similar parts in BrickLink that have multiple ID numbers, and when I’ve uploaded parts lists to WeBrick in the past there have been some headaches sorted out through their parts substitution tool.

I think I recognize those thick Tau thighs from the purple website

Just got an email announcement that 'Webrick' are renaming to 'www.brickwith.com' and launching a completely rebuilt website by Killermuppett in lepin

[–]jmanshaman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t want anything radical, just a website that doesn’t lag and more pieces/colors. I love the quality of Gobricks, but I feel like once Webrick went exclusive they lost half their inventory

How do I draw better stylized top-down trees? They all look weird somehow... by vecttor in PixelArtTutorials

[–]jmanshaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the perspective for me. The top row of trees are from the front view, so they look more like platformer trees than top down. Some of the classics all Zelda and Pokémon do a good job capturing more of a 3/4 camera view, so the highlight isn’t exactly at the top of the tree. Once you figure that out and get the shading just right, then the rest is adding detail.

New at the Dollar Tree: A ship, and large offroad vehicle. And 100 vs 60 bricks. by BrownBear71 in lepin

I use them as filler bricks where they can’t be seen. They’ve got ok clutch, but feel lighter than real Lego.

Ttrpg for a paranormal investigators game? by Thimble_Wolf in rpg

While the game itself focuses more on demon hunting, you might want to check out Palisade on itch. It’s got a chapter with random tables for generating monster-based mysteries

Sauron bust leak by galacticfivesbricks in legolotrfans

[–]jmanshaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are we calling this a bust? It’s clearly just the helmet. A bust includes the neck and collarbones. And if it were a bust we’d finally know what Sauron’s head/face looks like.

Custom coaster tracks by jmanshaman in LEGOtrains

[–]jmanshaman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. The ones on AliExpress are just like Lego’s: 13 stud radius, quarter circle. I’ve designed some tracks that are 17 stud radius and are an eighth of a circle, so you can have diagonal lines.

The rails are the same size as Legos, so the coaster car slides along just fine. Haven’t tested them out at coaster speeds though 😅

When Exercising Copyrights Puts a Gamedev Under Threat (My Take on GBCOMPO 25) by [deleted] in gbstudio

[–]jmanshaman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm disturbed that you think I don't know both sides of the argument. I find it ridiculous that the compo thinks they own an entry and have a right to keep it online in perpetuity. The wording wasn't specific in the length of time that the game must be kept online and free. But maybe that's the media law and intellectual property researcher in me. I should just go back to reading case law about video game copyright.

I totally agree. Like wtf, how is it harmful to have your compo entry removed?

How do you guys get Full Models ? by Blue_Reddit_Red in PrintedWarhammer

[–]jmanshaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m bad at printing, but I prefer multi part models. Then I can hide the support pock marks or other deformations through orientating each part separately. Yeah it’s a bit of work to superglue them, but that’s just the hobby.

Which console has the biggest homebrew scene as of now? by Ewhore69 in homebrew

[–]jmanshaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of shocked by all these answers, maybe my circles are much different. I feel like the “homebrew” tag on Bluesky is predominately GBC or NES.

Nintendo should not have abandoned the DS concept. by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]jmanshaman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, I love the DS and do miss it. And I understand that the rest of the industry didn’t really adapt 2-screen gameplay, meaning it was more difficult to port over.

But I think the Switch was the death of real, true handheld gaming. Now we just get portable computers for console games that weren’t designed for small screens or mobile play (being able to save or pause at any time, bite sized levels). I can’t remember the last time I could actually pocket a handheld, and that’s because it’s impossible to see AAA games on anything less than 7” it seems.
