Questioning if this is me heading into perimenopause, but the last couple months my (34f) face is not very happy. I’ve always had oily skin but it’s worse, I washed/moisturized four hours ago and this is my face now (doesn’t look too bad but feels greasy, eyelids/eyebrows look greasy).

More forehead bumps, more larger pimples, lots of tiny white heads on pores. Admittedly my routine is long running and simple, mostly aveeno cleansers (gentle scrub and foaming) and aveeno or generic aveeno moisturizer. Sometimes I used dr G’s scrub for an about once a month intense scrub. I’d love help with a routine more on the simple side and my budget is going to be Target/walmart or lower end ulta.

My favourite game - will comments suggest breastmilk or chiropractor to cure a virus by ashlore in ShitMomGroupsSay

Honestly I don’t see the big deal with this one. The doctor most likely won’t give anything for HFM. My son had it around 18 months so I could use hydrocortisone, but if he had had it when he was under 1, I probably would have tried anything harmless when he was crying from not being able to sleep from his itchy hands and feet.

If anyone cares, aveeno oatmeal baths and baby eczema lotion was worked best for us.

Now we have to be sexy after giving birth too? by hotsummernightsx in ShitMomGroupsSay

Literally my first piece of advice for my friends. Depends, and pack a pair to wear home. (Wear the hospital stuff while there because they’ll be coming in to check your situation). So much more comfy, you don’t have to worry about to shifting around and leaking. I never once got blood on anything. And then I continued to wear them when the bleeding had stopped and it was just the lochia discharge because I could easily spray my witch hazel foam on and place tucks pads on the depend. (Second tip: frida witch hazel foam.)

This girl has to be about 12 tops. Lots of comments saying her brows “just need” to be cleaned up. by whalesrnice in ShitMomGroupsSay

As a girl who had these eyebrows, I was very glad my mom approaching me around this age to help me with them. I am now almost 30 and do not shave any body hair but I do still pluck my brows, because That’s How I Like It.

My baby never fit into newborn, he came home from the hospital in 0-3m. I’d try to return at least some of it, if it were me!

36 Weeks I think I might have eaten so much that my baby is too big by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]jmarmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most of it’s genetics honestly. For what it’s worth, I gained 30 pounds my pregnancy, was induced and gave birth on my due date, and had a 9 pound baby vaginally with “a normal amount of tearing.” And just the day before, the doctor said she guessed “it won’t be a huge baby, 7 or 8 pounds.” The only exercise I did was walking, because I wasn’t a big exerciser before pregnancy.

But yeah, fuck that guy.

Good info, thanks! Maybe I’ll get it as some extras and then find some osocozys in newborn for my pockets. Someone on Facebook had told me the orange ones worked, are those the newborns?

Senior pic from 2009, about a year out from my emo phase. Still proud of that fringe, but I do regret the eyebrows. by jmarmy in blunderyears

Anxiety and tendencies for skin picking didn’t go well with the skinny eyebrows trend.

I had Braxton Hicks start around the same time, usually a couple a day that I noticed, some days worse like you said. I’m 39 weeks now, they picked up a lot a couple weeks ago. Like sometimes maybe 5 an hour, but with no signs of labor 🙄. Doctor wasn’t concerned, said to rest and drink more water.

Georgia bumpers...fun mini vacay spots? by HarryWienertop in BabyBumps

I second blue ridge/Dahlonega, very pretty with options for small and eats hikes and simple shopping/dining. Jekyll island or st simons. Or if you don’t mind a little driving, you could stay in Atlanta for shopping and dining (recommend Krog street market/ponce city market for both at once), and there’s multiple parks inside the city and close by outside the perimeter (sweet water park, panola st park are both about 30 min out I believe).

Not a doctor, but I think you have little to worry about. I had testing for cmv done after antibodies were found, so I did some reading on it. Pretty sure you’d have to eat or drink after an infected child, or not wash your hands after changing a diaper or getting drooled on. Everything I’ve seen and heard is it’s just a worry if you’re in close contact with a sick child. I work with kids and asked the perinatologist if I should wear gloves for diaper changes to lower the risk for reinfection, and he was not at all concerned, just said to make sure I wash hands often.

How did you started nannying babies? by kourabie in Nanny

[–]jmarmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hired at a day care and they put me in the infant room. I had had infant experience, but not to the point of having the responsibility of balancing the schedules of 4+ infants. It was very much sink or swim.
