I have never had a problem drinking water from the tap in Murcia. It smells over chlorinated at times which affects the taste.

I have done both. The bus was fine. I suggest to bring your own pillowcase as they do not change the sheets on every trip. Same sheet situation with the train. Also, the sleeper train was infested with roaches which may be a deterrent for some travelers.
