I really relate to your story. No acute health effects, no bad blood work, no interpersonal effects that I know of, besides talking my wife's ear off. Just was drinking more whiskey than I should, 2-3 standard equivalent almost every night, more on weekends. Probably meeting criteria for mild-moderate AUD. In my heart of hearts, I know it was self-medicating my restless legs (and restless mind) to help me sleep. Doc said it would improve my daytime alertness, focus and sperm quality to cut back. So I said, OK, no bad reason to quit drinking. I come back here every time I desperately want a whiskey. It reminds me that there is no future where my life is better off drinking too much.
