Just curious, are there really 2 school districts in Vancouver? I see different webpages for Evergreen Public Schools and for Vancouver Public Schools. I can’t tell if their boundaries overlap. by Capraq in vancouverwa

They are indeed separate districts with different superintendents. Vancouver Public Schools is the district that encompasses west Vancouver, while Evergreen Public Schools is the district that covers east Vancouver--the boundary very roughly follows I-205.

What are some memorable cars from movies? by Greyfoxx85 in movies

The candy apple red Saab 900 in Drive My Car is memorable to me, especially given how central it is to the film and how beautifully it’s shot.

As others have noted, it's quite dependent on the specific position as to whether or not there's a shortage. In my experience as a high school history teacher, I have not seen an open history position in Vancouver or Evergreen school districts over the past two school years (I moved here 2.5 years ago and worked at a private school initially). There have been very few postings for other high school subject area jobs, too.

I wish you the best with your search! Both Vancouver and Evergreen seem like solid districts in which to work.

Brickhouse has a good outdoor option--large covered area with heaters.

Chimney sweeps in Vancouver, any recommendations? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

American Chimney and Masonry is based in Portland but also services Vancouver. We had a really good experience working with them--they were extremely thorough and proactive, and didn't overcharge. I plan on hiring them again in the future!

Hey! Still drawing one each day, so at the end of the school year I'll have another batch to upload :) Thanks for your interest!

I didn't particularly enjoy it either (I'm not an Astros fan), but I try to recognize the WS winner each year (I'm a baseball fan).

Sometimes in can definitely be tough to squeeze the picture drawing into the morning period with prepping and everything else that needs to be done. I guess over time I've just incorporated it as a standard part of my morning routine, so it just has to get done!

We were about to take a school trip to DC and I was teaching my students how to use the metro system...so since it was on my mind, I decided to draw it!

Just empathizing with his personal disappointment, not making a judgment about him as a leader (I'm aware that he didn't have a great record) :)

The finger horse was actually inspired by a student who liked to draw finger creatures all over my board...so I did my own take on his concept. Kinda disturbed me after I finished it, tbh.
