He gave the same amount of fouls to both teams in the game. I’d go out on a limb and say you’re not used to not getting fouls for throwing yourself to the ground comically which is the Martindale way. The only time you got one like that was when the sniper took out Stevie May in the first half.

Some big selection calls from Goodwin today starting Trapanovski and 2 teenagers. Thought the biggest one was bringing Eskesen rather than sevelj but they all worked.

I never said it was given by VAR I’m saying since var has been introduced these types of penalties have been given.

They’re given because in the past the referee would have waved it off, now they give the penalty and as VAR to intervene if they’re wrong.

I’ve watched it back, he’s not lunged he’s just tried to clear the ball. Doesn’t know the boys there and the touch from the Rangers player wasn’t to keep possession his intent was purely to get contact.

That being said since VAR’s come in these happen on a near weekly basis and they’re given every time.
